How to deal with essential oil allergy

Women naturally love beauty, and it is normal to want to have good skin, so when bathing or washing their faces, they often want to make the skin on their faces and the whole body beautiful and white. Most women choose to use essential oils. Especially when taking a bath, apply essential oil all over the body and massage for absorption. Can replenish the moisture needed by the skin. This will leave your skin radiant and beautiful. However, some people may also experience symptoms of essential oil allergies. So how do you deal with essential oil allergies?

What to do if you are allergic to essential oils

Step one: Identify the source of the allergy. The first step for an essential oil allergy should be to identify the allergen, stop using the essential oils immediately, and see if the allergic symptoms improve or worsen. If allergy symptoms worsen after you stop using essential oils, it is very likely that the allergy is not caused by the essential oils. If the allergy symptoms are alleviated after you stop using the essential oils, then it is the essential oils that caused the allergy.

Step 2: If it is confirmed that the allergy is caused by essential oils, the next step is to check whether the skin allergy is caused by excessive use or failure to follow the instructions. You can increase the dilution concentration of the essential oil and reduce the frequency of use to see if the allergic reaction still occurs.

Step 3: If an allergic reaction still occurs after reducing the concentration and frequency of use of the essential oil, it is recommended to stop using the essential oil immediately. And understand clearly which essential oil you are allergic to, and then treat it accordingly.

The quenching method is a method that can reduce essential oil sensitivity. That is, mixing two or more essential oils and adjusting the concentration reasonably can greatly reduce the phenomenon of essential oil allergies. That is to say, before using essential oils, you must dilute them or use compound essential oils directly, because mixing multiple essential oils can effectively reduce the effectiveness of the allergenic components of each essential oil.

Contraindications for using essential oils

1. Before using essential oils, you must conduct an essential oil sensitivity test to avoid skin allergies. The essential oil sensitivity test means taking a small amount of diluted essential oil or compound essential oil and applying it to the skin behind the ear or sensitive skin on the inside of the arm. Only if no allergic reaction occurs within 24 hours can this essential oil be used.

2. Single essential oils must be diluted before use! Because the concentration of single essential oils is relatively high, using them directly on the skin without dilution will cause damage to the skin.

3. Most essential oils are photosensitizing, so it is recommended to use essential oils at night. Because using products containing photosensitive ingredients during the day will make your skin more susceptible to tanning and may even cause skin cancer, it is recommended to use essential oils at night for better results.

4. Some people are naturally allergic to essential oils, so those with sensitive skin who are not sure whether they are allergic to essential oils need to be very cautious when using essential oils.
