How to heal quickly from burn infection

How to heal quickly from burn infection

Accidents can easily happen in daily life, such as burns. If it is a minor burn, you don’t have to worry too much. Generally, no special treatment is required. Pay attention to the care methods. If it is a serious burn, you must go to the hospital immediately and treat it under the guidance of a doctor. In addition, family members must take good care measures, otherwise it is easy to cause infection. How can infected burns heal quickly?

First aid treatment for burns

Rinse: If a part of the body is scalded by boiling water, you can use running cold water to gently rinse it for about half an hour. You can use the faucet directly or use a basin. This method is to dissipate the heat energy, which can effectively reduce the damage of boiling water to the skin.

Soaking: If the burn area is large or severe, and the flushing water cannot be too gentle, you can choose to soak it. The effect is similar to that of flushing water, but be careful not to let the patient suffer from hypothermia. After soaking, you need to pay attention to some simple care.

Cover: First prepare medical gauze or cotton cloth. Make sure it is disinfected and clean. Then cover the burned area and fix it.

Take off: If you are wearing clothes and get burned, or if there is clothing on the burned area, you must take off the clothing carefully. If the clothing sticks to the skin, you can use scissors to carefully cut the clothing and remove it carefully. Remember not to pull it apart forcefully. Wait for a professional doctor to come and handle it.

Send: If the burn is serious, the most important thing to do is to send the patient to the hospital and let a professional doctor treat him.

Whether scars are formed after a burn is also related to whether the person has a scar-prone constitution, but the most critical factor is the depth of the burn wound. If the burn reaches a certain depth, it will definitely form many unexpected scar forms after self-healing. It may form keloids, scar adhesions, scar contractures, inflammatory hyperplastic scars, etc. due to physical factors or some carelessness during the repair process. At this time, traditional treatments will be difficult to repair.

Treatment of minor burns

After rinsing or soaking in cold water for about 20 to 30 minutes, if the burned skin is only slightly red and swollen, there are no blisters, or the blister area is less than one centimeter, then you can consider self-care.

The methods of care are:

First, immediately rinse the burned area with tap water for about half an hour, or soak the burned limb in clean cold water until the injured area no longer hurts. This can prevent the burn area from expanding and the damage from getting worse.

If there are clothes, shoes, socks, etc. on the injured part, it is best to remove them while cooling down. However, if the clothes are already stuck to the injured part, do not tear them off forcibly to avoid aggravating the injury.

If there are blisters on the injured area, do not pop them yourself. Small blisters can be absorbed by themselves, but large blisters are best treated by a doctor in the hospital.

We need to remind everyone that you must not apply soy sauce, lard, toothpaste, etc. on the burned area, because this may affect the doctor's diagnosis, or even cause secondary infection and aggravate the injury.

How to care after a burn?

(1) Keep the wound clean and dry.

Minor burns do not need to be bandaged. Keeping them dry can speed up wound recovery. But be careful to prevent your baby from scratching and causing infection.

If the burn is serious, you can use ultraviolet light to disinfect your home for 30 minutes every day to keep the room clean and avoid wound infection.

(2) Check the wound condition regularly.

The wound healing should be checked regularly. If the local pain intensifies, water or pus flows out, or even fever occurs, it means that the wound has become infected and inflamed, and you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

In addition, pay attention to whether the baby has other abnormal conditions, because burns are sometimes accompanied by other complications, such as hand, foot and mouth disease.
