Cryptophobia

Cryptophobia

Modern people often suffer from some psychological illnesses: for example, claustrophobia, social phobia, etc. Clasicophobia is a psychological fear caused by the simultaneous outbreak of anxiety and fear. There is often no specific treatment drug, and it can only be solved through psychological counseling and facing the feared object to exercise the ability to withstand. If patients with claustrophobia learn to vent and adjust themselves and control their emotions freely, they can effectively alleviate their fear.

Introduction to Cryptophobia

Cryophobia, also known as claustrophobia, is a dual mental stress state in which anxiety and phobia exist simultaneously. The symptoms of claustrophobia are that when the patient is alone in a deep, dark environment, he will feel fear and panic, which will cause palpitations, sweating, shivering, numbness, chills, flushing, feeling of suffocation, shortness of breath, accelerated heartbeat, nausea, dizziness, abdominal discomfort and other symptoms. In severe cases, he may faint and go into shock.

Claustrophobia is a type of phobia and can be treated according to general phobia treatment methods. The treatment of claustrophobia is similar to that of other anxiety disorders and can be treated with interpretive psychotherapy or anti-anxiety medications.

Treatment for claustrophobia

1. Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine is a unique medical means and method that plays an important role and has a huge impact on the history of world medicine. It organically combines the two medical systems to achieve the best combination of medication and the best clinical efficacy. The clinical efficacy of this therapy is superior to both Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, especially for the prevention and treatment of phobias, it has important clinical significance and high practical value.

2. Drug treatment Western medicine treatment for phobia mainly uses anti-anxiety drugs, which aim to eliminate the patient's anxiety and tension. Tricyclic antidepressants have been reported to be effective in the treatment of phobias, but their effectiveness has not yet been clearly established. Due to the different methods used in current clinical drug treatments, there is no unified standard for reference. Therefore, during the use of drugs, more consideration should be given to the actual situation of the patient. Only by fully estimating the patient's tolerance to various drugs can better results be achieved. The treatment method is: small dose maintenance and temporary administration. It means giving patients a small amount of medication in their daily life, and increasing the dosage when they encounter fear or before predicting an imminent onset of fear. In addition, the combined use of antianxiety drugs and antidepressants is also common in clinical practice.

3. Psychotherapy Psychotherapy has been the most thoroughly studied treatment for phobias and is also the most effective treatment method.

(1) Understanding the treatment method: The doctor must first help the patient build confidence in treatment and analyze the object of fear. Point out that the reason for fear is due to the lack of cognitive reflection. In order to overcome fear, one must first know oneself. We need to help them uncover the root cause of fear, understand the content of fear, calculate the degree of fear, and measure the probability of fear. Only in this way can patients correctly evaluate their position in the environment. This method can also be called "personal positioning method."

(2) Systematic desensitization is currently considered the safest and most effective behavioral therapy for treating phobias. In this method, the doctor sets a "step" fear value and gradually exposes the patient to fear-inducing objects and places. The patient's senses are gradually stimulated, and the degree of fear of the stimulation gradually decreases, eventually achieving complete disappearance of the symptoms. This method is relatively mild and easily accepted by patients. The disadvantage is that the treatment time is long and the effect is slow to take effect.

(3) Exposure therapy: This is a progressive behavioral therapy. This method is based on certain psychological counseling, and suddenly places the patient in front of the feared thing or in the place. Making it impossible for them to escape, thereby stimulating an extreme reaction in their heart. After the stimulation, the patient is not actually harmed by the object of fear, thus establishing an understanding of the object of fear and eliminating the fear psychology. The advantage of this method is that the disease is cured quickly. The disadvantage is that the patient must have certain physical conditions, otherwise the patient may become overly frightened and faint. Therefore, when conducting exposure therapy, one must also have certain rescue knowledge and be equipped with certain rescue equipment. In addition, some people use drug hypnosis or even direct hypnosis for treatment, which also has certain therapeutic effects. However, the clinical conditions required are high and it is generally difficult to implement.

4. Make more self-adjustments to enhance your sense of security and self-confidence, and improve your psychological quality. At the same time, do some relaxation training to adjust your nervousness in time, try to slowly enter the claustrophobic environment that makes you afraid, and desensitize yourself step by step.
