Since there is no maternal nervous system in the umbilical cord area and the fetus's nervous system is not fully developed, neither the fetus nor the mother will feel pain when the doctor cuts the umbilical cord.

When the umbilical cord is cut directly, the wound begins to heal, and scar tissue forms inside and outside at the same time, finally directly blocking the hole, forming the belly button on our body.

When the baby's umbilical cord is cut, the channels inside the umbilical cord that transport nutrients will directly degenerate and eventually become three ligaments that connect to the surface of the liver and near the bladder. This is not a direct channel, so the belly button is not connected to any internal organ in the human body.
