The dangers of taking a cold shower

In summer, besides eating watermelon while enjoying the air conditioning, another most enjoyable thing is to take a cool shower. Every day when I get home from get off work or school under the scorching sun, I am already sweating all over. At this time, the most thing I want to do is to run to the bathroom and take a cold shower, and instantly feel full of energy. Taking a cold shower is not just comfortable. In fact, the process of taking a cold shower can promote blood circulation, increase immunity and is good for the skin. However, after all, the water of a cold shower is cold. You still need to pay attention to a lot during the shower and understand the dangers of taking a cold shower.

The disadvantages of taking cold showers for people with poor physical condition. People with poor physical constitution should not take cold showers. Otherwise, their poor resistance will be stimulated by the cold and may cause colds, fevers and other diseases. When you are sweating profusely and feeling extremely hot, and want to cool down as quickly as possible, it is unscientific to take a cold shower to relieve the pain of the heat. Because, due to the sudden stimulation of cold water, the skin blood vessels immediately contract, the blood circulation resistance increases, the heart and lung burden increases, and at the same time the body's resistance is reduced, potential bacteria and viruses in the human body will take advantage of the opportunity to enter, thus causing disease.

Disadvantages of taking a cold shower after exercise. Just for the sake of momentary pleasure, you may take a cold shower from head to toe after exercise. It may feel refreshing at the time, but afterwards you may feel weak all over, and some may even have a headache. This is because when the body sweats profusely, the capillaries are in an expanded state. If you take a cold shower, the blood vessels will contract sharply, and the heat in the body will be affected by external factors and cannot be dissipated for a while. In addition, the brain is rich in arteries and is very sensitive to external stimuli. In hot seasons, the head is particularly prone to sweating after exercise. At this time, if you rinse the head with cold water, it may cause abnormal function of the intracranial blood vessels, causing dizziness, headache, black spots in front of the eyes, and even vomiting. In severe cases, it may also cause intracranial hemorrhage.

The disadvantages of taking a cold shower after drinking alcohol. After drinking and sweating, the glucose in the human body is converted into heat and consumed, causing blood sugar levels to drop significantly and body temperature to drop. The alcohol contained in wine can inhibit the normal activity of the liver and hinder the recovery of glucose storage in the body, so that blood sugar cannot be replenished in a timely and effective manner. This can easily lead to symptoms such as dizziness, headache, blurred vision, general weakness, and in severe cases, hyperglycemic coma. After sweating and drinking, you should not take a cold shower immediately to avoid dangerous situations that endanger your health.

Insufficiency of Qi and blood. Women are not suitable for taking cold showers and doing vascular exercises during menstruation, pregnancy, and postpartum confinement because they are weak, have insufficient Qi and blood, and have poor blood circulation.

Just had a full meal. When you eat, blood will flow to the stomach to help digest food. If you take a cold shower immediately, the blood will flow from the stomach to other internal organs of the body, affecting digestion. You should take a cold shower half an hour after a meal.

Feeling unwell. If you have a cold, fever, or any other physical discomfort such as inflammation, it is not suitable to take a cold shower because your body is weak.
