Reactive proteins belong to our body's immune system. Once foreign viruses or bacteria invade our body, there will be a reactive protein in the plasma to clean up these damaged cells, thereby keeping the body in a healthy state. It is the guardian of our body. However, if the content of this reactive protein is too high, it will also be harmful to our body. Let me briefly introduce it below: C-reactive protein (CRP) is a protein (acute protein) that rises sharply in the plasma when the body is infected or the tissue is damaged. It activates complement and strengthens the phagocytosis of phagocytes to play a regulatory role, clearing the invading pathogens and damaged, necrotic, and apoptotic tissue cells. It plays an important protective role in the body's natural immune process. Research on CRP has a history of more than 70 years. The traditional view is that CRP is a non-specific inflammatory marker, but research in the past decade has revealed that CRP is directly involved in cardiovascular diseases such as inflammation and atherosclerosis, and is the most powerful predictor and risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The detection method used depends on the conditions of each laboratory and the requirements for sensitivity and specificity. Immunodiffusion, radioimmunoassay, turbidimetry, and enzyme-labeled immunosorbent assay methods are all of practical value. Normal value: 800-8000μg/L (immunodiffusion or turbidity method). 1. Differential diagnosis of bacterial and viral infections The increase of CRP is positively correlated with the degree of infection. When infected by virus, the serum concentration of CRP does not change much or remains basically unchanged in most viral infections. 2. CRP and cardiovascular disease CRP has been reported to be elevated in acute ischemia and myocardial infarction. CRP can also predict local ischemia in patients with unstable angina, continued infarction in patients with angina, and coronary death in smokers. CRP can even serve as a sign of future myocardial infarction (MI) or stroke in apparently healthy people. 3. CRP and gynecological diseases CRP measurement is also helpful in the study of concurrent infections in gynecological patients. For pregnant women with premature amniotic membrane rupture and chorioallantoic inflammation, CRP measurement has the most accurate and early predictive effect. Note: 1. High-dose aspirin can reduce CRP concentration in CHD patients. 2. CRP concentration is positively correlated with the degree of coronary artery stenosis Inspection process No relevant information Related diseases Polymyalgia rheumatica, rheumatic arthritis, osteomyelitis, infectious arthritis, pyelonephritis, Behcet's disease, hypertension, chronic tonsillitis, reactive arthritis after intestinal infection, reactive arthritis Related symptoms Joint pain, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, headache, palpitations, fever |
