The dangers of lack of sleep

The dangers of lack of sleep

If you don’t get enough rest the day before, you will feel groggy the next day, which will not only affect your normal life, but also seriously affect your physical condition. If a person suffers from insomnia for a long time, the body will not get rest and will be in a very tired state. If it continues for a long time, the person will suffer from memory loss, dark complexion, mental weakness, and even in severe cases, life safety will be endangered.

Causes fatigue: It is well known that sleep is the best time to recharge the human body. Conversely, long-term lack of sleep will inevitably lead to physical exhaustion and fatigue.

Damage to the brain: Lack of sleep often manifests itself as irritability, listlessness, memory loss, etc.; long-term lack of sleep can lead to auditory and visual hallucinations. This is because the brain's oxygen consumption increases significantly when there is insufficient sleep, which is not conducive to the storage of energy in brain cells. Sleep is an important way to protect the brain and improve brain power.

Causes disease: People who often lack sleep will have a weakened immune system and develop various diseases. It will also cause an increase in the cholesterol level in the blood, increasing the chance of heart disease; it will also affect the normal division of cells, and even induce cell mutations and lead to cancer.

Influence on development: Growth hormone is essential for the growth and development of adolescents. The hypothalamus will only secrete large amounts of growth hormone when a person is in deep sleep, so teenagers who lack sleep will inevitably suffer from developmental delays.

Damage to appearance: Lack of sleep will affect the blood microcirculation under the skin, accelerate skin aging, make the skin color dull and pale, cause dark pigmentation and produce wrinkles.

Destroy emotions: Long-term lack of sleep will make the senses numb, and only the nerves that sense danger and pain will remain functional. Therefore, people who lack sleep for a long time tend to be withdrawn, irritable, and difficult to approach.

Leading to obesity: Lack of sleep can lead to a decrease in the concentration of lipoprotein in the body and an increase in appetite hormones. Lipoprotein concentrations suppress appetite molecules, while appetite hormones have the opposite effect. If people feel hungry like this, they often have a big appetite and overeat, and they become fat in no time.
