How to care after lymphoma surgery

How to care after lymphoma surgery

Surgery is currently the main method for treating lymphoma. Especially in the early stages of lymphoma, surgery is very effective. After surgery for lymphoma, patients usually become weaker, so postoperative care for lymphoma must be done well. Experts point out that postoperative care for lymphoma is as follows:

(1) In the early stage, patients can move around appropriately. If they have fever or obvious infiltration symptoms, they should stay in bed to reduce consumption and protect the body.
(2) Patients with lymphoma should follow the doctor's advice, take medication on time, receive chemotherapy, and have their white blood cell count checked regularly. If the white blood cell count drops below 4,000, chemotherapy should be suspended.
(3) If you experience nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, mild hematuria, numbness in the hands, or facial pain during treatment, these are mostly side effects of the drug. You should tell your doctor immediately and take appropriate symptomatic measures, which will improve the condition.
(4) Patients after lymphoma surgery should lead a regular life, avoid fatigue and mental stimulation, and eat foods high in protein, calories, and vitamins, as well as fresh vegetables and fruits;
(5) To avoid infection, lymphoma patients should be careful not to go to public places after surgery. They should be checked regularly. If swollen lymph nodes are found in the neck, groin, or armpits, they should go to the hospital for treatment in time.
(6) Keep the skin clean and wash it with warm water every day. Especially protect the skin in the radiotherapy area and avoid all irritants such as sun exposure, heat and cold, various disinfectants, soaps, adhesive tapes, etc. Choose soft cotton fabrics with strong water absorption and loose size. In addition, pay attention to personal hygiene, keep warm, prevent various infections, strengthen nutrition, improve resistance, and most importantly, follow the doctor's advice, adhere to treatment, and have regular follow-up visits;
(7) After surgery, you should pay attention to the recovery environment and try to avoid going to crowded public places to avoid cross infection. Regular physical examinations and disease review should be performed to avoid complications. Pay special attention to whether there is swollen lymph nodes in the neck, armpits and groin. If there is, you should seek medical attention in time to avoid the spread of the disease;
(8) Postoperative care measures can not only help patients improve their physical fitness, but also enhance their immunity, allowing patients to better resist the damage caused by the disease to the body, and are also effective for the recovery of lymphoma.
