Can a brain cancer patient give birth naturally?

Brain cancer is also called intracranial tumor or brain tumor. It includes tumors that originate from the brain substance or its adjacent tissues. There are also metastatic tumors or sarcomas that metastasize to the brain. It also includes inflammatory tumors such as tuberculosis and parasitic cysts, and various space-occupying lesions that can cause progressive increase in intracranial pressure and compress brain tissue. So can patients with brain cancer give birth naturally?

If there is a brain tumor, the pain during childbirth will be aggravated and intracranial lesions may occur. In this case, it is best to choose a cesarean section.

1. Headache: It is mostly caused by changes in intracranial pressure and direct infection of the tumor, which stimulates the sensitive structures in the brain, such as the meninges, cerebral blood vessels, venous sinuses and nerves. It is a common early symptom, and 90% of brain tumor patients have headaches. It is mostly throbbing pain or dull pain, which occurs paroxysmically or continuously, and is often more intense. It often occurs in the early morning, and sometimes wakes up in sleep, but the headache will gradually ease or disappear after getting up and doing light exercise. In severe cases, it may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting, and the headache can usually be relieved after each vomiting. Any cause of increased intracranial pressure, such as coughing, sneezing, or exertion and intense exercise, can aggravate the headache.
2. Nausea and vomiting: early or first symptoms, often accompanied by headache and dizziness. It often occurs in the early morning on an empty stomach. The typical clinical diagnosis is nausea or projectile vomiting that is unrelated to the tumor diet, and often occurs after a more severe headache or dizziness. Changes in head position can cause or aggravate it. Children with posterior fossa tumors will vomit early and frequently, and it is easy to misdiagnose as a gastrointestinal disease; vomiting in adults occurs later. Nausea and vomiting are caused by increased intracranial pressure or direct infection of the vagus nerve nucleus (vomiting center) by the tumor.
3. Visual impairment: decreased vision, diplopia, strabismus, visual field (vision range) defect or unilateral eyeball extrusion caused by non-ophthalmological diseases. When the tumor directly compresses the optic nerve, not only will the vision suddenly decrease, but also blindness may occur.
4. Abnormal energy: caused by damage to the cerebral cortex, clinical diagnosis is indifference, dullness, loss of thinking and memory, personality and behavior changes, and then develops into drowsiness, haziness or unclear consciousness. Especially in the elderly, it is often mistaken for Alzheimer's disease.
5. Abnormal sensation or movement disorder in limbs: Tumors occurring in the motor or sensory areas of the brain often cause abnormal sensation and weakness in the limbs, which may be exacerbated. When the tumor is located in the cerebellum, motor balance disorders often occur, such as unstable walking, easy falling, inflexible hands and feet, slurred speech, etc.
