What to do with rabies phobia

What to do with rabies phobia

If you are bitten by a dog, you must get a rabies vaccine because you don’t know what kind of dog it is. If it is a mad dog, it will be troublesome because the incubation period of rabies in the human body is very long. Even if it does not show up in time, it will break out in the later stage, causing great impact on a person's life. Some people have a phenomenon called rabies phobia. How to deal with this disease?

Rabies phobia refers to a psychological disorder characterized by an excessive fear of rabies that cannot be eliminated even by vaccination.

This type of person is extremely afraid of rabies and develops mental terror symptoms due to the pain at the bite site. However, this type of patient does not have a low fever, nor does he or she experience actual spasm of the throat muscles when exposed to water, and does not have hydrophobia. Many cases of this mental illness are caused by being misled by irresponsible remarks, such as: the incubation period of rabies is several decades, and healthy animals without the disease can also be infected, etc. Patients with rabies phobia are often those who have knowledge of rabies or have seen a rabies attack.

The clinical manifestations of rabies can be divided into four stages:

1 Incubation period: (average of about 4-6 weeks, the shortest and longest range can be 10 days to 8 months) Depending on the individual's physical condition, the incubation period varies from a few days to several years (6 years incubation period, only two cases in the world, less than 2 years is rare) During the incubation period, the infected person does not have any symptoms

2 Prodromal stage: The infected person begins to experience symptoms such as general discomfort, fever, fatigue, restlessness, pain in the bitten area, and abnormal sensation

3 Excitement stage: Humans: The patient's various symptoms reach their peak, and he or she will experience mental tension, whole body convulsions, hallucinations, delirium, fear of light, fear of sound, fear of water, fear of wind, etc. Therefore, rabies is also called hydrophobia. Patients often suffocate to death due to spasms in the throat.

4 Coma stage: If the patient survives the excitement stage, he will enter the coma stage. The patient is in a deep coma, but the various symptoms of rabies are no longer obvious. Most patients who enter this stage eventually die of exhaustion.

1. Rabies has an incubation period, ranging from a minimum of 3 days to a maximum of 19 years, with an average of about 20-90 days (during the incubation period, the infected person does not have any symptoms). Isn't it ridiculous that you showed symptoms so quickly?

2. If it is rabies, the patient will become extremely sensitive to stimuli such as sound, light or wind, and will immediately feel the throat tighten when slightly stimulated. That is to say, when you are reading these words I wrote on your computer, it feels like someone is strangling you with a rope.

3. People can only be infected if they are bitten by a dog that carries the rabies virus and shows corresponding symptoms. You need to analyze whether the dog that bit you has symptoms such as hydrophobia and drooling. If not, you can rest assured!

1. In reality, stay away from the source of transmission

90% of rabies is transmitted by dogs and 5% by cats. Staying away from cats and dogs means you can get rid of 95% of the possibility. Try to choose routes with fewer cats and dogs to and from get off work, but the reality is that cats and dogs are a problem nowadays and cannot be avoided. Here we suggest carrying a magical device called an anti-dog bodyguard with you to scare away nearby cats and dogs.

2. Psychologically, improve awareness

Although rabies is a malignant infectious disease with a 100% mortality rate, the probability of contracting rabies is far less exaggerated than rabies-phobes imagine. In the absence of correct knowledge about rabies, fear is exaggerated and people treat a risk of 0.1 point with 120% of their attention. We will publish the correct information about rabies in the future. 3. Physiologically, use system desensitization

Systematic desensitization therapy, also known as reciprocal inhibition, was created and developed by American scholar Wolpert. This method mainly induces the patient to slowly expose the situation that causes neurotic anxiety and fear, and to fight against this anxiety through a state of psychological relaxation, so as to achieve the purpose of eliminating anxiety or fear. In the future, we will also develop a reference escape plan for terrorists based on this.
