Sweat entering the eyes is harmful

Sweat is the liquid secreted by the skin on the body surface. Sweat is actually the liquid inside the body. Sweating can cool the body in time and ensure that the health is not threatened. The amount of sweat depends on the amount of heat the body is exposed to. Severe heat can cause a large amount of sweat to be secreted, and even drip from the forehead into the eyes. Let's take a look at whether sweat entering the eyes is harmful?

It may cause a stinging sensation if it enters the eyes. This is normal and there is no need to worry. If the stinging is severe, you can use some anti-fatigue eye drops appropriately.

Sweat often flows into the eyes. Just wipe it off gently. It usually does not cause any harm to the eyes. Sweat contains salt, which should have a certain irritating effect on the eyes, but it will not cause corneal epithelial loss.

If sweat gets into your eyes, you can rinse them with clean water or use tobramycin eye drops for treatment.

The main components of sweat are water, a little salt and nitrogenous waste. If sweat gets into the eyes, it may irritate the eye mucosa and easily cause conjunctival congestion, dryness, astringency, itching, pain and other discomforts. So try not to let it get into your eyes. If sweat gets into your eyes, rinse them with clean water or use Uni-Eye Wash for better results.

In 100 ml of sweat, 98-99% of the components are mainly water, with a specific gravity of approximately 1.002-1.003 and a pH value of 4.2-7.5. Sodium chloride is about 300 mg/100 ml. 1-2% is a small amount of urea, lactic acid, fatty acids, etc., so the harm to the eyes is minimal, and the eyes will produce tears to resist. The lactoferrin and β-lysin in the tears have defensive functions and can inhibit bacterial growth. In addition, the secretion of tears will promote normal cell metabolism.

Just pay attention to eye hygiene and get enough rest. Opinion: Sweat is actually body fluid, so don’t worry. Since you are sweating, just wash it off. Also, make sure to get enough rest and don’t worry too much. And add a line of defense above the eyes to block the sweat flowing down. For example, a sweat guide belt or sweat guide cap, pressed from the brow arch to the back of the head, can prevent sweat from flowing into the eyes.
