Normal baby lip color

Normal baby lip color

A person's lips mainly function as a function of the person's teeth and oral cavity, but if a person is in a bad mental or physical state, it can also be observed through the person's lips. Parents can also observe the color of their baby's lips to infer whether the baby is healthy. However, many parents don’t know what the normal color of their baby’s lips is. Next, I will introduce to you the normal color of a baby’s lips.

1. Normal baby lip color

A baby's normal lips are pink and tender, plump, round and hydrated, without any symptoms such as peeling or ulcers.

2. Abnormal lip color of babies

1. Dark red lips

If the baby's lips are darker in color, it means that there are too many toxins accumulated in the baby's body, and the qi and blood are insufficient to nourish the skin, so the lips will become darker and the baby may have constipation.

2. Lips are particularly red

This is often a sign that the baby has indigestion or getting angry, and is accompanied by bad breath. If the child is not too young, he can eat some food that aids digestion and let the child develop the habit of chewing slowly.

3. Bluish lips

There are two reasons for blue lips. One is that the baby is too cold. You can adjust the temperature of the environment. However, if the lips are still blue after the temperature is increased, the baby may have food poisoning or lack of oxygen, so mothers should take the child to the hospital for medical treatment as soon as possible.

4. Yellowish lips

Yellowing of the lips may indicate a problem with the child's liver, so go to the hospital immediately for treatment and do not delay the treatment.

5. Pale lips

It generally reflects anemia, blood loss, etc., which Chinese medicine calls blood deficiency. The most common symptoms are dizziness, tinnitus, blurred vision, stars in the eyes, listlessness, difficulty concentrating, and numbness in the hands and feet. Women are more likely to experience this condition in the late stages of their menstrual cycle.

6. Bluish lips

It is mostly a manifestation of blood stasis, while purple lips are more likely to indicate problems with the heart and lungs. People with lung disease and heart disease are more likely to have purple lips. In addition, the lips may appear bluish purple when an asthma attack is about to occur or heart failure occurs.

7. Cherry red

It is usually poisoning, that is, excessive inhalation of carbon monoxide. In mild cases, symptoms include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and palpitations; in severe cases, the patient may fall into a coma and die.

8. Black and turbid

It is generally caused by digestive system dysfunction, which may be accompanied by constipation, diarrhea, headache, insomnia, loss of appetite, etc. If one or several black spots appear on your lips, you should go to the hospital's dental or dermatology department to rule out the possibility of pigmentary or vascular diseases, such as pigmented nevus or hemangioma.
