Do floor tiles have radiation?

Floor tiles are very common things in our lives. Generally speaking, floor tiles have become an indispensable item for modern people's decoration. Whether it is the living room, kitchen or bathroom, all kinds of floor tiles are very beautiful. There is a rumor in the market that floor tiles have radiation. In fact, floor tiles generally do not have radiation, but floor tiles do have radiation. Therefore, it is best to use environmentally friendly materials when decorating.

The raw materials of tiles are stone powder, zircon powder, feldspar powder, quartz powder, etc. These materials are radioactive. The so-called radiation from floor tiles produced by modern production technology is almost negligible, but this is only limited to some qualified manufacturers. As for some unscrupulous manufacturers, in order to avoid erosion and facilitate stains, they will apply a layer of "glaze" (glazed tiles) on the surface of the tiles and add zircon sand as an emulsion. The content of radioactive nuclides in zircon sand is relatively high, so it is not known whether the floor tiles they produce have radiation. Therefore, when choosing floor tiles, we must first choose floor tiles produced by regular manufacturers, so that the quality can be guaranteed.

If we encounter floor tiles produced by irregular manufacturers, we need to determine whether they contain radiation. So how can there be no distinction?

First of all, we need to be clear that the whiter the tiles are, the more additives they contain and the greater the radiation. Whitening agents such as zirconium oxide produce radiation, which is harmful to human health, and the radiation of ultra-white bricks among polished tiles is even stronger. Therefore, unless the glaze itself is white, large white bricks are not suitable for large-area paving.

Secondly, dark-colored tiles have more serious radioactivity. The darker the tile, the more radioactivity it contains. Among glazed tiles, red tiles are the most radioactive.

The above-mentioned are all floor tiles produced by irregular manufacturers. As for the floor tiles produced by regular manufacturers, modern technology has made the radiation of floor tiles extremely small.

When choosing floor tiles, how to avoid floor tile radiation? Here are a few tips:

1. Be careful when buying super white bricks.

2. It is not advisable to lay tiles in children's rooms and bedrooms.

3. Do not use strong acid cleaning agents.

4. Open windows for ventilation.

5. Repair damaged tiles in time.

6. Avoid laying tiles over large areas.

7. Choose Class A standard tiles.
