What to do if the corrugator muscle is bulging

The corrugator supercilii is a relatively small muscle in our body, mainly located in the middle of the tail of the eyebrow. Its main function is to pull down and gather the eyebrows. Sometimes some people will find that their corrugator supercilii muscles are not flat but convex. Few people know what causes this, but the more common reason is inflammation. So what should we do if such a problem occurs?

1. The function of the corrugator supercilii muscles is to pull the eyebrows down and close together, creating vertical wrinkles on the forehead. This muscle is called the "corrugator muscle", so its movement can be seen as the main expression of suffering, discomfort, sadness, and endurance of pain. When exposed to bright light, the corrugator muscles also contract to bring the eyebrows closer together, blocking and reducing the amount of light entering the eyes.

2. Inflammation, which is what people usually call "inflammation", is a defensive response of the body to stimulation, which manifests as redness, swelling, heat and pain. Inflammation can be infectious inflammation caused by infection or non-infectious inflammation not caused by infection. Normally, inflammation is beneficial and is the body's automatic defense response, but sometimes, inflammation can be harmful, such as attacks on the body's own tissues, inflammation occurring in transparent tissues, and so on.

3. When inflammation occurs, it is recommended not to take medication at will. You should distinguish the symptoms before taking medication. Generally speaking, inflammation can be divided into viral infection and bacterial infection. If the inflammation is not just a viral infection, you can use antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs, that is, drugs that can relieve and inhibit the body's inflammatory response such as "redness, swelling, heat and pain", such as aspirin, paracetamol, ibuprofen and other non-steroidal antipyretic and analgesic drugs.

4. 1. Red: It is caused by congestion in the inflammatory lesions. In the early stage of inflammation, due to arterial congestion, the local oxygenated hemoglobin increases, so it appears bright red. As inflammation progresses, blood flow slows down, congestion and stagnation occur, and local tissues contain more reduced hemoglobin, so they appear dark red.

5. 2. Swelling: Mainly caused by exudate, especially inflammatory edema. In chronic inflammation, tissue and cell proliferation can also cause local swelling.

6. 3. Fever: Fever is caused by arterial congestion and increased metabolism. Interleukin Ⅰ (IL-1), tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and prostaglandin E (PGE) produced by white blood cells can cause fever.
