How to prevent bedsores from long-term sitting

When a person is bedridden for a long time, the body's muscle tissue is suppressed and lacks necessary activities, which often leads to skin infection and ulceration, muscle tissue necrosis, and bedsores. Among many paralyzed elderly people, bedsores are very common. In fact, for normal people, if they sit for a long time, they also face the risk of bedsores. So how should people who sit for long periods of time prevent and treat bedsores?

1. If you have bedsores, you can buy a bedsore pad for care. If the patient is incontinent, you should buy a few more bedsore pads. Dry them in time after they get wet and change them when you want. However, using bedsore pads does not mean that bedsores will not occur. Bedsore pads only provide patients with a possibility to effectively prevent bedsores and make patients get bedsores as little as possible. Caregivers also need to provide careful care.

2. It is very important to provide daily care for patients with bedsores. Patients should be asked to turn over more often, either actively or passively, at least once every two hours to prevent bedsores caused by excessive pressure on local muscle tissue due to long-term posture. Patients should not twist their bodies in place to avoid mechanical injuries.

3. In addition to nursing care, bedsores also need active treatment. Currently, a very effective way is to apply bedsore ointment twice a day and persist in treatment. Before using the medicine, the patient's bedsore area must be carefully cleaned and dried. This will help the medicine to be applied to the wound and achieve the best effect.

Note:

When caring for patients with bedsores, you must have enough confidence and patience. You must be kind to the patients and not make them angry. They must remain cheerful and happy so that negative emotions will not aggravate their condition or cause other infections or complications.
