Staying up late causes chronic dry and itchy eyes

Staying up late has become an increasingly common phenomenon nowadays, especially for young people with a rich nightlife or for people with heavy work workloads, staying up late has almost become commonplace. 1. Itchy eye disease 1: Eye allergies

Itchy eyes are the sensation of irritated eyes that require scratching. Itchy eyes are one of the main symptoms complained by ophthalmological patients. If there are no other symptoms, it is just simple itchy eyes, and it is related to the season, or accompanied by allergic symptoms such as itchy nose, clear runny nose, sneezing, etc., it is likely to be an eye allergy. Itchy eyes are a common symptom in spring.

2. Itchy eye disease 2: Dry eye disease

When your eyes itch, there is obvious dryness and soreness, and you may also feel as if there is something uncomfortable in your eyes. This is generally caused by dry eye disease.

Dry eye disease sometimes does not only exist in the eyes, but is a systemic connective tissue disease. People with dry eye disease often also have a dry mouth and tongue. When dry eye disease occurs, the water secretion in the eyes decreases, and the eyes will become itchy, dry, with increased eye secretions and even burning pain.

When the weather is dry, people who use their eyes more often often suffer from dry eye disease. From students to white-collar workers in front of computers, or people engaged in clerical work, all will have varying degrees of eye fatigue, decreased vision or symptoms of dry eye disease.

3. Treatment of itchy eyes

1. Local treatment: Patients with allergic conjunctivitis can use Patanol eye drops, 0.1% olopatadine hydrochloride, which has a dual effect, fast onset and long duration of drug action.

2. Clean the eyes: If there is excessive secretion, rinse with saline or 3% boric acid water 2 to 3 times a day. If there is not much secretion, you can use a sterilized cotton swab dipped in the above solution to clean the eyes.

3. Cold compress: Early cold compress can alleviate the eye discomfort symptoms caused by this disease. Bandaging and hot compress are contraindicated.

4. Thorough treatment: Treatment must be timely and thorough. After the symptoms have basically subsided, the medication should be continued for 1 to 2 weeks to prevent it from becoming chronic or recurring.
