What is the eyelash growth cycle

What is the eyelash growth cycle

Our facial features are given by our parents at birth, and we can improve them through acquired changes. So when we put on makeup and have plastic surgery, it is all to make our facial features more perfect. So do we know the growth cycle of eyelashes? After knowing the cycle, we can understand how to grow eyelashes. Let’s learn this knowledge together.

The hair shaft is the visible part of the hair that is exposed outside the skin and is composed of keratinized cells. The tissue can be divided into three layers: epidermis, cortex and medulla. The hair shaft is composed of elongated cells containing melanin, and the cytoplasm contains melanin granules, which gives the hair its color. The amount of melanin is related to the color of hair.

The hair root is the part buried in the skin and is the root of the hair. The hair roots grow invisible within the skin and are surrounded by hair follicles. Hair follicles are sheath-like sacs composed of epithelial tissue and connective tissue. They are sac-like structures formed by the downward growth of the epidermis and are covered with a fibrous sheath evolved from the epidermis.

The end of the hair root and hair follicle is enlarged and called the hair bulb. The cells of the hair bulb divide actively and are the growth point of the hair. The bottom of the hair bulb is concave, and connective tissue protrudes into it to form the hair papilla. The hair papilla contains capillaries and nerve endings, which can nourish the hair bulb and have sensory functions. If the dermal papilla shrinks or is damaged, the hair stops growing and gradually falls out.

On one side of the hair follicle there is a bundle of smooth muscle running diagonally, called the arrector pili muscle. One end of the arrector pili muscle is connected to the lower part of the hair follicle, and the other end is connected to the superficial layer of the dermis. When the arrector pili muscle contracts, the hair can stand upright. Some small blood vessels are distributed into the hair bulb through the dermis, and their function is to supply nutrients for the growth of the hair part of the hair bulb.

It is generally believed that the density of hair follicles is congenital and that new hair follicles cannot be added in adulthood.

The thickness of hair varies, depending on gender, individual, body part and race. Men's hair is generally thicker than women's; the length of hair is also different. Short hair such as eyelashes, eyebrows, nose hair, etc., is generally no longer than 10mm; the length of hair is the longest.

The above is about the eyelash growth cycle. I wonder if everyone understands this. No matter how you transform yourself, you must choose the one that suits you and do it seriously. For the sake of our facial features and figure, we should learn more knowledge, because this knowledge can make our lives more perfect and happier.
