Appendicitis is not unfamiliar to many people. It is also a common clinical disease. Generally, the onset of appendicitis is often acute. For the problem of appendicitis, most people use surgery as the treatment method. Of course, many people are also worried about the sequelae of appendicitis after treatment, especially women, who are very worried that appendicitis will affect fertility. Can appendicitis cause infertility? 1. Appendicitis will not cause infertility. Because appendicitis is an organ of the gastrointestinal tract and a blind tube structure at the end of the cecum, its occurrence is caused by the proliferation of lymphoid follicles and obstruction of the gaps in the lumen. Because the appendix is supplied by terminal arterial blood, that is, the appendicular artery originates from the superior mesenteric artery, and the ileocolic artery gives rise to the appendicular artery again, so the blood supply is relatively poor. Moreover, it is a blind tube that only allows water to flow in but not out, which can also lead to appendicitis. Infertility is mainly due to congenital abnormalities in the development of the egg cells or the malformations of the fallopian tubes. They are two systems, one is the gastrointestinal digestive system and the other is the reproductive system, which are not interconnected, so appendicitis will not cause infertility. 2. Infertility is caused by appendix suppuration and perforation, which leads to adhesion of bilateral fallopian tubes and inflammation stimulation leading to obstruction of the fallopian tube lumen. This situation is rare after all, because on the one hand, the appendix must be suppurated and perforated, causing adhesion of bilateral fallopian tubes. What's the situation? One side of the fallopian tube is not very smooth, and the lumen of the fallopian tube is blocked due to stimulation after the appendix suppuration and perforation. This situation will cause infertility. Therefore, especially for women with appendicitis, if it is discovered early, it is recommended to undergo surgical treatment as soon as possible to avoid adhesion of the fallopian tube on this side, which will bring inconvenience to future life. Infertility is relatively rare, but it does occur in clinical practice. 3. Appendicitis generally does not cause infertility, but sometimes if it is severe it can cause pelvic infection, and sometimes pregnancy can cause recurrence of appendicitis. If it is simple appendicitis, it can be treated conservatively, and generally there will be no problem after it recovers, so there is no need to worry about infertility. |
