How to treat advanced gastric cancer metastasis to lymph nodes

Advanced gastric cancer refers to gastric cancer that has metastasized to distant sites, at which point the patient has lost the chance of surgical resection. If the tumor cells are confined to regional lymph nodes, it is called locally advanced gastric cancer; if there is extensive metastasis to organs such as the liver and lungs, it is considered advanced gastric cancer.

1. Radiotherapy: Radiotherapy can be used as palliative treatment for some patients with early or mid-stage gastric cancer who have recurred after surgery or cannot tolerate chemotherapy;

2. Targeted drug therapy: Commonly used drugs include cetuximab injection and apatinib capsules, which are suitable for HER-2 positive people, but the specific medication needs to be used under the guidance of a doctor, and regular review of blood routine and liver function is required;

3. Immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy: such as PD-L1 antibodies, which can activate the body's own immune system to attack tumor cells and are widely used in clinical practice;

4. Chemotherapy: Commonly used drugs include paclitaxel injection and cisplatin injection. These drugs have strong anti-cancer effects and have good therapeutic effects on a variety of malignant tumors. They can effectively kill cancer cells and improve patients' symptoms and quality of life.

5. Auxiliary treatment with traditional Chinese medicine: Based on clinical experience, select methods of strengthening the spleen and replenishing qi, clearing away heat and detoxifying, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, softening and dispersing nodules, and strengthening the body to carry out conditioning in order to relieve patients' pain, improve the quality of life, and prolong life.

Nutritional support therapy and psychological counseling can also be used to relieve discomfort. Patients with advanced gastric cancer are advised to maintain a positive and optimistic attitude to face the disease and avoid being too emotional and affecting recovery.
