Purulent secretion: This is the problem that should be taken seriously. The appearance of purulent secretion often indicates bacterial infection and you must go to the hospital for treatment in time. If a large amount of purulent secretions are found in both eyes of a newborn within 34 days after birth, it is highly suggestive of gonococcal conjunctivitis, commonly known as pus-discharging eyes.
