Many people may have inflammation in their bodies and some lymphatic diseases. In fact, lymph is the first immune organ in our body. When our body is seriously invaded by inflammation, the lymph nodes will swell. However, if it is not treated, it is likely to cause lymphangitis. Lymphangitis is particularly prone to edema. So what are the hazards of lymphangitis? The harm is manifested by the degree of lymphedema, which can be divided into mild and severe: limb edema is pitting, which can be reduced or disappeared after raising the limb, and there is no fibrotic damage to the skin. Moderate: The edema is no longer sunken when pressed, the edema does not disappear significantly when the limb is raised, and the skin has moderate fibrosis. Severe: Epidermal swelling-like skin changes occur. Secondary lymphedema often presents with recurrent lymphangitis and gradually worsening lymphedema. When lymphangitis occurs, there will be local redness, swelling, pain, swollen lymph nodes, tenderness, and often accompanied by sudden chills and high fever. Acute lymphangitis is caused by bacteria invading the lymphatic flow through damaged skin. The causative bacteria are mostly hemolytic streptococci and Staphylococcus aureus. The main symptoms include tenderness at the lesion site, the appearance of a red line extending proximally, and swollen lymph nodes. The harm to patients is systemic reaction, such as fever, chills, headache, loss of appetite, and general discomfort. If the lymph nodes cannot contain and control the infection, the pathogen will continue to develop toward the center to the next group of lymph nodes or directly enter the blood circulation, causing bacteremia or even sepsis. If you often have headaches or fevers in your life, don't just think you have a cold. You must go to the hospital for a check-up to see if it is sclerosing lymphangitis. Don't delay treatment. The main focus is on the treatment of the primary lesion. Anti-inflammatory treatment is given in the early stages of the disease. If acute lymphadenitis has formed an abscess, incision and drainage should be performed. Treat injuries promptly and treat primary lesions such as tonsillitis, dental caries, finger infections, and tinea pedis infections. |
