How much do you know about the treatment of cardia cancer?

Chemotherapy for cardiac cancer is generally suitable for patients with cardiac cancer who have undergone surgery or cannot undergo surgery. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs for cardiac cancer include cyclophosphamide, cisplatin, vincristine, mitomycin, bleomycin, doxorubicin, and taxane.

Although chemotherapy is widely used in the clinical treatment of cardiac cancer, and most of the time it is combined with traditional Chinese medicine, a large amount of clinical data confirms that chemotherapy alone has a poor therapeutic effect on cardiac cancer and has greater side effects, which is not as effective as combined medication.

Traditionally, adenocarcinoma is not sensitive to radiation therapy, and cardiac cancer is mostly adenocarcinoma, so it is generally not emphasized to use radiotherapy to treat cardiac cancer. However, after relevant research in recent years, there is a new understanding of radiotherapy for cardiac cancer.

If there are reports that preoperative radiotherapy tissue dose (DT) of 40Gy for cardiac cancer can effectively improve the surgical resection rate of patients, reduce the positive rate of lymph node metastasis, and significantly improve the survival rate of patients from 1 to 3 years. Although the efficacy of radiotherapy for cardiac cancer has been greatly improved in recent years, radiotherapy has no advantage in improving the long-term efficacy of patients, and it brought great side effects to Huan Zehua during the treatment.

The treatment of early-stage cardiac cancer is mainly surgical resection. The scope of surgical resection needs to be considered comprehensively based on multiple factors such as the location, size and tumor infiltration of the patient's malignant tumor. Although surgical treatment of early-stage cardiac cancer can achieve relatively good treatment results, it causes great trauma to the patient's body because the patient needs to endure the pain of open-chest surgery, and complications such as anastomotic fistula are prone to occur after surgery.

This is all about the treatment methods for cardia cancer. If you plan to undergo surgery for cardia cancer in the near future, for the best results, it is recommended that you seek formal advice for surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery!
