What are the symptoms of being allergic to air conditioning

Human beings can be said to be the most intelligent and most amazing species of all creatures on this earth. It is precisely because of this that humans have many inventions in society. For example, as summer gradually approaches, hot weather is gradually approaching. The temperature of our living environment is gradually rising, and we have many air conditioners around us to cool us down, so let us learn about the symptoms of air conditioner allergy.

1. Definition of air-conditioning disease:

While air conditioning brings comfort to people, it also brings a kind of "disease". People who work or study in an air-conditioned environment for a long time will experience symptoms such as nasal congestion, dizziness, sneezing, tinnitus, fatigue, memory loss, and some symptoms of skin allergies, such as tight and dry skin, susceptibility to allergies, and worse skin condition due to poor air circulation and lack of environmental improvement. This phenomenon is called "air-conditioning syndrome" or "air-conditioning disease" in modern medicine.

2. People who are susceptible to "air conditioning disease":

Generally speaking, they are mainly the elderly, children and women. The elderly and children have low body resistance, while women wear thin clothes with bare chests and arms.

3. Main symptoms of "air conditioning disease":

The main symptoms of air-conditioning disease vary depending on each person's adaptability. The common symptoms include fear of cold, fatigue, soreness of muscles and joints in the limbs, headache, back pain, and severe cases may also cause facial paralysis. The reason is that the vascular and nerve functions of the local ear tissues are disordered, causing spasms of the small arteries located in the stylomastoid foramen, causing primary ischemia of the facial nerves, followed by venous congestion and edema, which in turn compresses the facial nerve, causing the corner of the mouth on the affected side to become crooked.

4. Prevention methods of "air conditioning disease"

1. When using air conditioning, you must pay attention to ventilation. You should open the windows regularly every day, turn off the air conditioner, increase air exchange, and keep a certain amount of fresh air in the room. It is best to clean the air conditioner once every two weeks.

2. Pay attention to your clothing in the workplace and ensure it meets the warmth requirements of an air-conditioned environment.

3. The air-conditioned room temperature and the outdoor natural temperature should not be too high, preferably not exceeding 5 degrees. It is best not to use air conditioning when sleeping at night. It is safer to turn off the air conditioner when going to bed. Outdoor activities before going to bed are beneficial to promote blood circulation and prevent air-conditioning disease.

4. When working or studying in an air-conditioned environment, do not let the cold air from the vents blow directly on your body. It is best not to let the cold air blow directly on you when you are sweating profusely, as this will cause the temperature to drop too quickly and you may easily get sick.

5. When going out from an air-conditioned environment, you should first move around in a cool place for a while, and then move around in the sun after your body has adapted. If you stay in an air-conditioned room for a long time, you should go outdoors, drink plenty of water, and speed up your body's metabolism.

6. Set the air conditioner to above 26 degrees Celsius to save energy and reduce the risk of illness.

7. Use disinfectants to kill and prevent the growth of microorganisms.

8. Add dehumidifier to prevent bacterial growth.

9. Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors.

10. Do not turn on the air conditioner in a stationary car to prevent the carbon monoxide emitted by the car engine from flowing back into the car and causing an accident, i.e. carbon monoxide poisoning.

11. You should always keep your skin clean and hygienic. This is because when you frequently go in and out of air-conditioned environments and experience sudden changes in temperature, the bacteria attached to the skin can easily get clogged in the sweat glands or sebaceous glands, causing infection and suppuration. Therefore, you should take a bath frequently to keep your skin clean.

12. The prevention of air-conditioning disease mainly focuses on the eleven points mentioned above. If you have a cold, fever, pneumonia, or facial paralysis, you should seek medical diagnosis and treatment in time.
