Is polishing harmful to the body?

Is polishing harmful to the body?

Polishing is a relatively common technology at present. Generally, people who are familiar with the technology know this work. Some light may be emitted during the work process, which can be harmful to the body, especially our eyes. Therefore, everyone should pay attention to protective measures when polishing. In addition, polishing should be carried out in a safe environment. As long as the protective work is done well, it will not be harmful to the body.

Chemical polishing

Chemical polishing mechanism

Chemical polishing is the process of achieving a bright and smooth metal surface through regular dissolution. In chemical

During the irradiation process, a passive oxide film is continuously formed on the surface of steel parts and the oxide film is continuously dissolved, and the former is stronger than the latter. Due to the microscopic inconsistency of the surface of the parts, the microscopic raised parts of the surface are dissolved preferentially, and the dissolution rate is greater than that of the concave parts; and the dissolution and formation of the film always proceed simultaneously, but at different rates. As a result, the surface roughness of the steel parts is leveled, thereby obtaining a smooth and bright surface. Polishing can fill surface pores, scratches and other surface defects, thereby improving fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance.

Principle of electrochemical polishing

Electrochemical polishing is also called electrolytic polishing. Electrolytic polishing uses the workpiece as the anode and the insoluble metal as the cathode. Both electrodes are immersed in an electrolytic cell at the same time. Direct current is passed through to produce selective anodic dissolution, thereby increasing the brightness of the workpiece surface and achieving a mirror effect.

Process

Chemical (or electrochemical) degreasing → hot water washing → running water washing → rust removal (10% sulfuric acid) → running water washing → chemical polishing → running water washing → neutralization → running water washing → transfer to the next surface treatment process

Working environment: The working environment of the traditional polishing process is harsh. Sand, iron filings, dust, etc. are generated during the polishing process, which seriously pollutes the environment;

.Processing efficiency: manual polishing; Hawken technology is a process of turning instead of grinding, with a linear speed of 50-80 m/min and a feed rate of 0.2-0.5 mm/r, which is equivalent to the efficiency of semi-finishing turning.

Material consumption: Polishing requires polishing wheels, abrasives, sanding belts and other auxiliary materials;

Adaptability: Polishing can process simple surfaces such as flat surfaces, but cannot process curved surfaces. If processing complex surfaces such as R-arcs and curved surfaces, the Hawken polishing process can be used.

Chemical polishing post-treatment

Chemical polishing of steel parts can be used as a pre-treatment process for protective decorative electroplating, or as a pre-treatment process for chemical film formation such as phosphating bluing. If it is applied directly without electroplating or chemical film formation, amino varnish or acrylic varnish can be sprayed, which will have a good protective and decorative effect after drying. If the paint is immersed in anti-rust passivation aqueous solution before painting, the corrosion resistance will be further improved.
