Nutritional health is crucial for recovery from lung cancer

After the condition of lung cancer patients has improved, nutritional conditioning and dietary taboos during the recovery period are particularly important: no smoking and drinking; practice qigong to enhance respiratory function; exercise in a fresh environment; eat less irritating food and things that produce phlegm and damage the lungs; have regular check-ups and take Chinese medicine that replenishes qi and the lungs, clears away heat and fights cancer all year round.

In terms of nutritional conditioning, whether cancer patients lose weight and the degree of weight loss have a great impact on the prognosis. Therefore, patients should drink two cups of milk (450 grams) every day, eat one or two lean meats, half a pound of vegetables and fruits, of which half of the vegetables should be green leafy vegetables. When weight loss is obvious, you can increase the amount of food you eat and add meals. You can add meals between meals, eat more sweets, milk, and eggs, so that the calories increase significantly and make up for the weight loss caused by excessive consumption. For cancer patients who cannot eat, in addition to using gastric tubes to inject liquid foods such as milk and malted milk, they should also receive intravenous infusions to supplement a large amount of glucose, sodium ions, and serum proteins. These measures play a vital role in strengthening the physical fitness of cancer patients, improving the therapeutic effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and prolonging the survival time of patients.

In terms of dietary taboos, it is advisable to eat more foods that can enhance the body's immunity and resist lung cancer, such as coix seed and sweet almonds; for coughing and phlegm, it is advisable to eat ginkgo and radish; for hemoptysis, it is advisable to eat green plum, lotus root, sugar cane, pear, etc.; it is advisable to eat foods that can reduce the side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, such as goose blood and longan, etc. Avoid spicy and irritating foods, fried, grilled and other hot foods, and avoid greasy, sticky and phlegm-producing foods.
