Understand the common symptoms of liver cancer through TCM differentiation

Liver cancer has always been known as the "king of cancer". my country is also a country with a high incidence of liver cancer. Traditional Chinese medicine classifies liver cancer into the categories of "liver accumulation", "lumps", "accumulation", and "swelling". The symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine vary according to the syndrome differentiation.

1. Qi stagnation and blood stasis type

Symptoms: The patient has stabbing pain or distending pain in the hypochondrium, fatigue, poor appetite, belching and vomiting, insomnia and irritability, normal or dark tongue, sometimes with ecchymosis on the edge of the tongue, thin white or thin yellow tongue coating, and a stringy and thin pulse.

Treatment principle: Soothe the liver and regulate qi, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis.

2. Damp-heat and blood stasis type

Symptoms: A firm lump under the ribs, pain like a needle prick, fullness in the abdomen, or a drum-like abdomen, jaundice in the eyes and skin that worsens day by day, fever and dry mouth, red and yellow urine, constipation, a red tongue with visible ecchymosis, a yellow and greasy tongue coating, and a stringy, slippery and rapid pulse.

Treatment principle: clear away heat and dampness, detoxify and break up stagnation.

3. Heat-toxicity-injury-yin type

Symptoms: distended abdomen, bulging masses, thin body, dizziness, tinnitus, hot flashes and night sweats, occasional high fever and thirst, or gum disease and nosebleeds, dry and hard stools, short and dark urine, red tongue with little fluid, thin yellow tongue coating, and a stringy and fine pulse.

Treatment principle: Nourish yin, clear away heat, detoxify and resolve blood stasis.

4. Liver and kidney yin deficiency

Symptoms: dry mouth and thirst, irritability and night sweats, sore waist and weak limbs, weight loss, dull pain in the liver area, red tongue with little coating or cracks, and thin and stringy pulse.

Treatment principle: nourish the liver and kidneys, resolve blood stasis and clear away heat.
