What are the specific hazards of colorectal cancer

Cancer cell metastasis is likely to occur during the treatment and recovery of colorectal cancer. This is the terrible thing about malignant tumors. Therefore, the harm it brings to people's bodies cannot be ignored. Patients should understand the relevant content in this regard in a timely manner so that they can do preventive work as early as possible in clinical practice.

1. Hematogenous metastasis to liver metastasis: Intrahepatic hematogenous metastasis occurs earliest and is the most common, and can invade the portal vein and form tumor thrombi. Tumor thrombi that fall off in the liver can cause multiple metastatic lesions. Tumor thrombi that block the main trunk of the portal vein can cause portal hypertension and refractory ascites. After invading the hepatic vein, liver cancer cells can enter the systemic circulation and metastasize outside the liver, with the highest metastasis rate in the lungs. They can also metastasize to various parts of the body through the blood, and are more common in organs such as the adrenal glands, bones, kidneys, and brain.

2. Lymphatic metastasis to the lungs: Almost all patients with advanced lung cancer who have regional lung metastasis have shortness of breath to varying degrees. Normal tissue fluid produced by the lungs and myocardium is returned by the lymph nodes in the middle of the chest. If these lymph nodes are blocked by tumors, these tissue fluids will accumulate in the pericardium to form pericardial effusions or accumulate in the chest cavity to form pleural effusions.

3. Colon metastasis: Early symptoms: In the earliest stage, there may be abdominal distension, discomfort, and indigestion-like symptoms, followed by changes in bowel habits, such as increased frequency of constipation, diarrhea or constipation, and abdominal pain before defecation. Later, there may be mucus in the stool or mucus-purulent blood in the stool.

4. Hematogenous metastasis to the stomach: When gastric metastasis occurs in cardiac cancer involving the lower esophagus, dysphagia may occur. When complicated with pyloric obstruction, nausea and vomiting may occur. When bleeding occurs in ulcerative gastric cancer, vomiting or black stool may occur, followed by anemia.

5. Lymphatic metastasis to bones: It will compress the surrounding soft tissues, causing pain or functional problems. Benign tumors can also change the structure of bones, weaken the load-bearing function and cause pathological fractures (this is the most common). Bone malignant tumors, due to their rapid growth, often cause obvious swelling and tenderness of the limbs, even skin fever, and vascular engorgement. You should also be prepared and prevent future illness and development. If you find that you have symptoms of colorectal cancer, you must go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid worsening of the disease.
