Can prostate cancer be cured?

Can prostate cancer be cured? The course of prostate cancer is divided into T1, T2, T3, and T4 stages according to the degree of development. Clinically speaking, T2 and below are considered early stages and can be treated with radical prostatectomy. At this stage, it can be completely cured, but when patients discover it, most of them are in the middle and late stages. Therefore, early detection and early screening are necessary.

The treatment method for early prostate cancer is mainly determined by the patient's condition, so which treatment is more effective is not fixed. Some patients may be better treated with surgery, while some patients may get better faster with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. These are not fixed, so only by understanding the patient's condition can we determine how to treat it.

Objectively speaking, prostate cancer is a malignant tumor and it is very difficult to cure. This is mainly because patients often experience delayed treatment and have little hope of recovery. After the onset of the disease, if the patient can adopt reasonable treatment, then the deterioration of the disease can be effectively controlled. Endocrine therapy is a commonly used treatment method for prostate cancer patients, and its efficacy is relatively certain. Because prostate cancer has typical hormone dependence, endocrine therapy can significantly relieve prostate lesions and symptoms in clinical practice, but it has no obvious effect on the patient's survival.

In addition, chemotherapy is indispensable for cancer patients, especially for patients in the advanced stage. Chemotherapy is a common adjuvant treatment for advanced prostate cancer, mainly used for patients who have undergone surgery or radiotherapy and have eliminated local tumors. Chemotherapy drugs are used to eliminate potential small lesions that are currently undetectable.
