Reaction after chemotherapy for uterine cancer

In recent years, the number of female patients who died of uterine cancer in my country has gradually increased, and this disease has gradually become a hot topic. Experts say that once you find yourself with symptoms of uterine cancer, you should go to the hospital for regular treatment in time and do not delay the best treatment period. Chemotherapy is essential for the treatment of uterine cancer, but chemotherapy can also bring many adverse reactions to patients.

1. Adverse reactions to the digestive tract

These are the adverse reactions we often see in TV dramas, such as nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. Other adverse gastrointestinal reactions include abdominal pain, diarrhea, oral mucosal ulcers, pharyngitis, etc.

2. Decreased white blood cell count

Chemotherapy for uterine cancer can inhibit the bone marrow hematopoietic system, which is mainly manifested as a decrease in white blood cells and platelets. If the number of white blood cells is lower than (2.5-3)×109/L and the number of platelets is (50-80)×109/L, chemotherapy should be temporarily stopped.

3. Cardiovascular damage

Some chemotherapy drugs for uterine cancer can cause damage to the cardiovascular system. Cardiotoxic drugs should be avoided to prevent heart failure.

4. Urinary tract abnormalities

Chemotherapy for uterine cancer can also cause adverse reactions such as urinary tract abnormalities. Urinary tract abnormalities are mainly manifested as proteinuria, oliguria or anuria, and some patients may have hematuria. Patients with uterine cancer should have their kidney function checked regularly during chemotherapy.

5. Liver damage

Chemotherapy for uterine cancer can cause damage to liver cells to varying degrees, causing liver pain, jaundice, increased bilirubin, etc. In severe cases, it can also cause cirrhosis.

6. Respiratory system damage

Chemotherapy drugs for uterine cancer can also cause acute chemical pneumonia and chronic pulmonary fibrosis, and even respiratory system reactions such as respiratory failure.

7. Thrombophlebitis

Thrombophlebitis is mainly caused by leakage of drug solution due to careless operation during intravenous injection of uterine cancer chemotherapy drugs.

The above are the adverse reactions that chemotherapy brings to uterine cancer patients. I believe everyone has a better understanding of them. Experts remind female friends that they must develop good living habits and actively prevent uterine cancer in order to reduce the chance of developing uterine cancer.
