How to prevent ovarian tumors better

The ovaries are reproductive organs unique to women and are of vital importance. Every month's menstruation is directly affected by the hormones secreted by the ovaries. However, due to many factors, the ovaries are always threatened by some diseases, such as ovarian tumors. Experts recommend that if conditions permit, an ultrasound examination should be done once a year to detect ovarian tumors in time.

Ovarian tumors are not uncommon, but they can be benign or malignant. Benign ones include ovarian cysts, while malignant ones include ovarian cancer.

Many people panic when they find ovarian cysts through B-ultrasound, fearing that they may have cancer. But in fact, ovarian cysts are benign tumors. Don't rush to treat them in a one-size-fits-all manner. Instead, observe patiently and treat them differently. Patients can undergo ultrasound examinations every six months. If the cysts become smaller, surgical treatment is not required. However, patients with larger cysts need to have them removed as soon as possible.

There is another type of tumor in the ovary that is also benign, called teratoma. Most teratomas are mature. If it is a mature teratoma, it is benign and can be removed surgically. If it is immature, you need to pay attention, because immature teratomas may be malignant.

Ovarian cancer is a malignant ovarian tumor, which is relatively rare. However, it is relatively more malignant than uterine cancer and cervical cancer. As we all know, there is a fallopian tube on one side of the uterus, and the ovary is next to the uterus. The outside of the ovary is the abdominal cavity. Once ovarian cancer occurs, the cancer cells can quickly reach the surface of the ovary, and then fall off into the abdominal cavity and spread in the abdominal cavity.

Many women usually pay little attention to their ovaries, hardly think about them, and do not go for examinations. They stay next to the uterus and do not affect other organs. Therefore, even if a tumor grows, the patient will not feel anything and it is not easy to detect.

Doctors remind that if conditions permit, women should have an ultrasound examination of the abdominal organs, including the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidney, uterus, bladder, and ovaries, once a year. In this way, even if a tumor grows on the ovary, whether it is a cyst, teratoma, ovarian cancer, or any other tumor, it can be discovered in time.
