Can ovarian tumors be cured?

Can ovarian tumors be cured? Ovarian malignant tumors are relatively common gynecological diseases. This disease has become a major killer that endangers women's health. Therefore, we hope that the content and knowledge about the treatment of the disease can play a certain role, so that we can better eliminate the impact of the disease during the golden period of treatment.

Surgical treatment:

For surgical treatment of ovarian malignant tumors, appropriate treatment methods are selected according to the patient's own development. Most patients with ovarian malignant tumors need tumor resection of ovarian malignant tumors, which plays a great role in quickly controlling the disease. The remission rate of surgical resection is 83%, but the harm to patients after surgery is too great. Recurrence and metastasis are prone to occur after surgery. The remaining cancer cells after surgery will metastasize to non-directional parts, which is more harmful. Postoperative consolidation treatment is very important. Conservative treatment with traditional Chinese medicine can be combined with treatment to achieve emergency treatment of symptoms and slow treatment of root causes. The combination of symptoms and root causes has a better therapeutic effect and effectively controls the early development of the patient's disease. During surgery, detailed exploration should be performed first, including cytological examination of peritoneal lavage fluid or peritoneal effusion, palpation of the diaphragm, pelvic and abdominal organs, pelvic lymph nodes, and retroperitoneal lymph nodes, in order to accurately stage the tumor. The surgical methods for early patients are divided into comprehensive staging surgery and fertility-preserving staging surgery. The scope of comprehensive staging surgery includes bilateral adnexa, uterus, omentum resection and pelvic and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. For patients with advanced tumors that have extensively implanted and metastasized in the pelvis, it is recommended to perform tumor cell reduction surgery whenever possible.

Chemotherapy:

Since ovarian tumors spread very early, the lesions cannot be removed in most cases during surgery, and the effect and application of radiotherapy are also very limited. Therefore, systemic chemotherapy is an important auxiliary treatment method. Moreover, chemical drugs have very large side effects on the body and are highly irritating. They are not suitable for patients with advanced ovarian malignancies, and patients should be cautious in choosing treatment. Since ovarian malignancies, especially epithelial cancers, spread very early, the lesions cannot be removed in most cases during surgery, and the effect and application of radiotherapy are also very limited. Therefore, systemic chemotherapy is an important auxiliary treatment method. Especially for malignant germ cell tumors, standardized chemotherapy can significantly improve the survival rate of patients. For some advanced patients, the tumor can be reduced after chemotherapy, creating favorable conditions for satisfactory tumor reduction during surgery.

In fact, in clinical practice, there are many treatments for ovarian malignant tumors, but the two types introduced above are the most common. The treatment process of the disease is full of twists and turns and pain, so patients must be fully prepared mentally to be able to better cope with it, which can alleviate some of the pain to a great extent.
