Self-examination for testicular cancer

Self-examination for testicular cancer

The treatment of testicular cancer is also relatively complicated. If it is discovered too late, the cure rate for the patient will be greatly reduced. However, if the patient can understand his physical condition earlier, it is very important for the treatment of testicular cancer. Early treatment of testicular cancer is not only effective but also almost harmless to the patient, so it is very important to do a good job of self-examination for testicular cancer.

Normal male testicles are wrapped in the scrotum, a bit like olives and oval, with a certain elasticity. Generally speaking, tumors often occur in one of the two testicles, so when you "touch yourself", if you find that the texture of the two testicles is different, you should pay attention. Tumors growing on the testicles feel harder and tougher. In addition, you should also pay attention to the following abnormal phenomena:

1. Pain - The pain of testicular tumors is generally not obvious in the early stage, or it only manifests as a feeling of falling after fatigue, and swelling and discomfort are mostly manifested in the entire scrotum;

2. Testicular enlargement - The process of testicular abnormality caused by testicular tumors often presents in different ways. In some cases, the testicles swell first and then become painful, while in others, pain comes first and then swells. Testicular enlargement can be slow or rapid.

3. Scrotal prolapse - All testicular tumors will cause testicular swelling and a feeling of scrotal prolapse.

Self-examination is not complicated, and the best time to do it is after bathing. This is because any local tension will shrink the scrotum and affect the examination. However, after bathing, the skin of the scrotum is most relaxed, making it easier and more accurate to examine.

During the examination, the first step is to hold the testicle flat with your hand to feel the weight and texture of the testicle; then use both hands to palpate, first check one side, so as to compare the size, shape and texture. When a tumor occurs, the testicle will swell and become hard. The surface may be smooth, but it has lost its normal elasticity, or there may be several hyperplastic nodules in the testicle. If you feel a lump or a sense of falling during the initial self-examination, you should be alert and go to a nearby hospital for further examination in time.
