Can bile duct cancer be passed on to children?

Cancer is currently one of the main causes of disease that threatens human life. Biliary duct cancer is one of them. Relatives of patients with bile duct cancer often worry whether they will also suffer from bile duct cancer. Biliary duct cancer is a malignant tumor. People with bile duct cancer are very anxious, thinking that bile duct cancer is difficult to cure and that suffering from bile duct cancer is equivalent to a "death sentence." What we are discussing now is not the issue of cure, but whether bile duct cancer can be inherited by children?

To find out whether bile duct cancer is hereditary, we must first know the cause of bile duct cancer. How is bile duct cancer caused? It is transformed from normal cells. The division of cancer cells is like a "unbridled" wild horse that is difficult to control. When the number of cancer cells in human cells exceeds 1 million, some symptoms of bile duct cancer will occur. So how do normal cells mutate into cancer cells? For example, viruses, radiation, and chemicals act on the DNA in cells, causing changes in its structure or function, which leads to changes in metabolism. Changes in cell proliferation become cancer cells. DNA is the basic substance of heredity. Once DNA changes, it will be passed on to the next generation. In this sense, bile duct cancer is related to heredity.

From a genetic point of view, both hereditary and non-hereditary cancers are caused by cell carcinogenesis. Modern research shows that one cell mutation is not enough to cause normal cells to become cancerous, and a second mutation is required for cancer to occur. The "second mutation" theory holds that if the first mutation occurs in a germ cell or a fertilized egg, then all the somatic cells of the individual produced by the division will bring about a mutation, which is a necessary condition for canceration, but not a sufficient condition for canceration; when any cell undergoes a second mutation in the future, the cell will be transformed into a cancer cell.

The above is my analysis of whether bile duct cancer can be passed on to children. I hope it is useful to you!
