What should you pay attention to in your diet for glioma

Glioma is a malignant tumor that is difficult to cure and prone to recurrence, causing great pain to patients. Patients should not ignore their daily eating habits during active treatment. Here are some things to pay attention to in the diet of patients with glioma.

1. Dietary fiber and glioma

The results showed that the control group consumed more vegetables and fruits than the case group and there was a negative correlation. This suggests that vegetables and fruits have a protective effect on brain glioma. Fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins are protective against brain tumors, especially citrus fruits.

Vegetables, fruits and cereals are rich in dietary fiber, mainly cellulose, lignin, hemicellulose, polypentose, gum and pectin, etc. These substances can reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer and other tumors. Dietary fiber can prevent cancer caused by certain chemical carcinogens and adjust hormones or endogenous tumor inhibitors in the body.

About the anti-cancer mechanism of dietary fiber:

①Dietary fiber can reduce the concentration of carcinogens in the large intestine;

②It can shorten the time for poisons to pass through the intestinal cavity and reduce the contact time between carcinogens and tissues;

③Can affect the production of certain carcinogens or pro-carcinogens;

④It has a regulatory effect on the endocrine system and other systems, thereby affecting the formation and development of tumors.

2. Vitamins and glioma

In addition to being rich in cellulose, vegetables and fruits are also rich in vitamins. In addition to dietary fiber, vitamins play a key role in the prevention of tumors. Carrots are rich in carotene, while tomatoes, oranges, apples and other vegetables are rich in vitamin C, which are negatively correlated with the occurrence of brain gliomas.

Fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C have a significant preventive effect on tumors. The mechanism of action of vitamin C is to inhibit the synthesis of endogenous nitrosamines and the transformation of carcinogenic compounds by tissue cells, and can even reverse the transformed cells. It is precisely because of the anti-cancer effect of vitamin C that it is generally recommended that the daily intake should reach more than 100 mg. Vitamin E can inhibit the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines and free radicals, protect the normal differentiation of cells, and enhance the body's immune function.

Brain glioma and daily diet are closely related. Some people have tried various treatments, but the condition still has not been alleviated. This is most likely caused by their bad eating habits. Don’t think that as long as you take some medicine, you will be safe. Without good living and eating habits, no matter how good the treatment is, it will be difficult to play the role it should play.
