What are the treatments for small cell lung cancer

What are the treatments for small cell lung cancer? If you have small cell lung cancer, you feel that death is coming. This is a wrong understanding, which has brought a lot of misunderstandings to patients. As long as good treatment methods are used, it is still possible to cure. Today we will learn about the treatments for small cell lung cancer:

The treatment of lung cancer should be based on surgery or strive for surgery except for stages IIIb and IV, and combined treatment with radiotherapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy should be added according to different stages and pathological tissue types.

Patients with the following conditions can generally receive surgical treatment in the early stage: 1. Those without distant metastasis, including solid organs such as liver, brain, adrenal glands, bones, extrathoracic lymph nodes, etc.; 2. Those whose cancer tissue has not invaded or spread to adjacent organs or tissues in the chest, such as the aorta, superior vena cava, esophagus, and cancerous pleural effusion, etc.; 3. Those without severe cardiopulmonary dysfunction or recent onset of angina; 4. Those without severe liver and kidney diseases and severe diabetes. Surgery is still the mainstream of cancer treatment, and treatment should be timely to avoid the spread of cancer and bring trouble to the treatment.

Late-stage chemotherapy is the main treatment for lung cancer, and more than 90% of lung cancers require chemotherapy. The efficacy of chemotherapy for small cell lung cancer is relatively certain regardless of early or late stages, and even about 1% of early small cell lung cancers are cured by chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is divided into therapeutic chemotherapy and adjuvant chemotherapy. Chemotherapy requires the use of different chemotherapy drugs and different chemotherapy regimens according to the different histological types of lung cancer. In addition to killing tumor cells, chemotherapy also damages normal cells in the human body, so chemotherapy needs to be carried out under the guidance of an oncologist.

Patients should eat a light diet during chemotherapy, avoid greasy, indigestible and fried foods. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, eat small meals frequently, and combine foods reasonably, diversify the diet, and eat a balanced diet. During the intervals between radiotherapy and chemotherapy, pay attention to avoid fatigue, rest, and regular work and rest to avoid infection.
