What are the symptoms of small cell lung cancer

What are the symptoms of small cell lung cancer

Most patients with small cell lung cancer think that their disease is just an illusion of lung cancer and is not serious. In fact, small cell lung cancer is a relatively serious disease. Because in general, many patients are not easy to find out how they get sick in the early stages of small cell lung cancer, so once it is discovered, there are usually many situations, so the condition is relatively serious. So what are the symptoms of small cell lung cancer? Let's learn about it together below.

Symptom 1: Recurrent infection

Inflammation that can occur repeatedly in the same area due to tumor blocking the airway is also called obstructive pneumonia. This type of pneumonia is different from lung cancer caused by inflammation. Patients often have symptoms such as persistent low fever, short-term low fever after the fever subsides, and anti-inflammatory treatment is not effective.

Symptom 2: Chest tightness and shortness of breath

Many of these patients will experience chest tightness, shortness of breath and other symptoms in the early stages. Most people think that sub-health status is easy to be ignored. Many patients go to the hospital for examination and find that their lungs have lesions, and even severe patients have pleural effusion.

Symptom 3: General fatigue and weight loss

About 80% of all small cell lung cancer patients will experience general fatigue similar to sub-health status in the early stages of the disease. Some patients even suddenly lose weight for no reason. This weight loss is not normal. Generally, patients will lose 10-20 pounds.

Lung cancer symptoms introduction:

1. Cough: A typical symptom of lung cancer, it will appear in the early stage. Because the diseased site is mostly located on the large bronchi, it is easy to irritate the patient, resulting in irritating coughing. As the disease worsens, the cough will become more severe and accompanied by the appearance of sputum.

2. Hoarseness: As the disease worsens, the cancerous tissue in the body will gradually increase, causing compression and damage to the recurrent laryngeal nerve, which in turn affects the patient's voice, leading to the appearance of hoarseness symptoms. This is very different from the hoarseness caused by pharyngitis, smoking, drinking, etc., so pay more attention to it in daily life.

3. Coughing up blood: It often occurs in patients with central lung cancer. The amount of bleeding in the early stage is not much, and it is mostly mixed with foam and is bright red in color. As the disease gradually worsens, the amount of bleeding will become larger and larger. This is mainly due to the rupture of blood vessels on the surface of the tumor for some reasons.

4. Fever: When the disease develops to a certain stage, the cancerous tissue in the body will ulcerate, and the internal toxins will flow out, causing damage to the surrounding tissues, causing the patient to experience fever symptoms of varying degrees.

5. Metastatic symptoms: As the disease progresses, cancer cells in the body will metastasize, causing damage to the liver, pancreas, bones, brain and other parts, leading to the occurrence of metastatic symptoms such as liver enlargement, ascites, jaundice, fractures, headaches, etc., accompanied by systemic symptoms such as weight loss, fatigue, anemia, cachexia, etc.

The above is an introduction to the symptoms of small cell lung cancer. After the examination, you must go to a professional hospital for testing. It is best to choose a specialized cancer hospital for treatment, because small cell lung cancer develops quickly, and delaying treatment is irresponsible to life.
