Will fibroids be inherited?

In this fast-paced era, the topic of whether fibroids are hereditary is often discussed by people, because fibroids have brought serious harm to the physical and mental health of many people. So, is fibroids hereditary? I believe that many people are not very clear about it. Let us take a good look at whether fibroids are hereditary.

Fibromatosis is a genetic disease caused by a gene mutation on the seventeenth pair of chromosomes. This disease is dominantly inherited, and patients have a 50% chance of passing the abnormal gene to their children, so not everyone in the family has it. In addition, some neurofibromatosis patients have no family history, because only 50% of patients inherit it from their parents, and the other 50% are caused by spontaneous gene mutations. Fibromatosis is a common genetic disease, affecting one in every three to four thousand people. The condition varies from person to person. Generally speaking, most patients are only slightly affected, while a few are more seriously affected. Although there is no drug or surgery that can cure it, proper treatment can also solve the various problems caused by this disease.

Fibromatosis is a fibrous tissue tumor rich in collagen that originates from muscles, aponeurosis, and fascia. The pathological formation is benign or low-grade malignant. However, the tumor has no capsule and grows in an invasive manner. It has obvious malignant biological behavior, that is, it recurs stubbornly many times, but rarely metastasizes to distant places. The recurrence rate is 25 to 57 percent. The recurrence time is mostly 1 month to 1 year after surgery, and can even reach more than 10 years, so this type of tumor is also called invasive fibromatosis. Multiple recurrences can cause the lesions to spread more widely, and uncontrollable growth may occur, invading important organs and endangering life.

Each patient should have a detailed physical examination regularly to monitor possible complications and get appropriate treatment as soon as possible. So far, there is still no way to predict the severity of the disease, and even within the same family, the situation can be different.
