Several groups of people with a high risk of liver cancer should be especially careful

Epidemiological statistics show that areas where hepatitis B is prevalent are often also areas with a high incidence of liver cancer. People who have had hepatitis B are indeed more likely to develop liver cancer than those who have not had hepatitis B. The risk is as high as 10.7 times.

Some scholars believe that the pathway by which hepatitis viruses cause liver cancer is that the hepatitis viruses first cause hepatitis, which in turn leads to cirrhosis, causing atypical proliferation of liver cells, and then developing into liver cancer; other scholars believe that chronic hepatitis can directly lead to liver cancer without going through the cirrhosis stage.

But there is one thing that they agree on among their different opinions, namely, hepatitis virus may be the main initiating factor among the many factors that cause human liver cancer.

Middle-aged and elderly people

Most liver cancers occur after the age of 40. This is because the effects of carcinogenic factors require a process of accumulation, which can even last for decades.

Therefore, most liver cancer patients are middle-aged and elderly people, and the high-incidence age group is between 50 and 60 years old.

In addition, the occurrence of liver cancer is also related to the decline of human immune function. After middle age, the thymus gradually atrophies, and thus the cellular immune function closely related to thymic endocrine system also gradually weakens. The human body cannot effectively reject abnormal cells, and cancer takes the opportunity to develop.

male

There are significantly more male patients suffering from liver cancer than female patients.

Generally speaking, the male to female ratio of liver cancer is between 7:1 and 10:1, that is, the number of male liver cancer patients is 7-10 times that of female patients.

There is currently no definite explanation as to why men are at high risk for liver cancer. However, many medical experts believe that the estrogen in women's bodies has a certain antagonistic effect on certain liver cancer-causing factors.

People who eat unclean food

Long-term consumption of moldy food, food containing nitrite, and lack of trace element selenium in food are also important factors that promote liver cancer.

Aflatoxin in moldy food is the main factor inducing cancer. Aflatoxin is the only substance that has been clearly proven to be carcinogenic so far. It is also one of the auxiliary causes of liver cancer.

Nitrite exists in many foods in nature. The average nitrite content in vegetables is about 4 mg/kg, and the content in beans is even higher, reaching 10 mg/kg.

Nitrite salts will not accumulate in the body and can be excreted through urine. Nitrite in daily diet will not cause harm to the human body. A large amount of nitrite can cause great harm to the human body. It can be converted into nitrosamines, which are substances with clear carcinogenic effects.

Smoker and drinker

The incidence of liver cirrhosis is very high among alcoholics, and the relationship between liver cirrhosis and liver cancer is very profound.

If you smoke a lot, it will accelerate and aggravate the formation of cirrhosis and promote the occurrence of liver cancer.

Strictly speaking, drinking is not the direct cause of the disease, but drinking is an assistant or salesman of carcinogens. It can promote the carcinogenic effect of carcinogens and inhibit the function of the immune system. In addition, alcohol can stimulate the secretion of the pituitary gland, accelerate the rate of cell division, and increase the susceptibility to cancer.
