What are the traditional Chinese medicines for treating brain cancer in clinical practice?

Nowadays, with the continuous development and improvement of traditional Chinese medicine, it is increasingly trusted and respected by patients. Compared with Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine can avoid many drug toxic side effects and is more conducive to the treatment of diseases. Brain cancer is a very harmful intracranial tumor. So, what traditional Chinese medicines are there for the treatment of brain cancer in clinical practice?

1. Stagnation type of toxicity and blood stasis: severe headache, like a needle or thorn, the pain is fixed and worse at night, or the eyeballs may bulge out, or the scalp may be numb, or there may be convulsions, vomiting, purple tongue or ecchymosis, and the pulse may be deep, stringy or thin.

Prescription: Tongqiao Huoxue Decoction with modifications. Medicinal ingredients include peach kernel, safflower, three-edged sword, curcuma, pangolin, white peony root, chuanxiong, notoginseng, calamus, white flower oldenlandia, barbata, musk, etc. Take 1 dose per day, decocted in water.

Add or subtract: For severe blood stasis, add leeches and earthworms; for convulsions, add scorpions, centipedes, and earthworms; for qi deficiency, add Adenophora adenophora; for yin deficiency, add tortoise shell, turtle shell, Ligustrum lucidum, and Eclipta prostrata; for constipation, add rhubarb and betel nut; for vomiting, add pinellia, poria, and bamboo shavings; for insomnia, add mother of pearl, dragon teeth, amber, and cinnabar.

2. Liver and gallbladder heat type: Headache or splitting headache, red face and eyes, irritability, vomiting, bitter taste in the mouth, foul breath, rough breathing, yellow or short red urine, dry and hard stool. Red or crimson tongue, yellow fur, stringy and rapid pulse.

Prescription: Longdan Xiegan Decoction with modifications. Medicinal ingredients include Gentiana scabra, Scutellaria baicalensis, Gardenia jasminoides, Radix Rehmanniae, Angelica sinensis, Alisma orientalis, Herba Prunellae, Lithospermi chinensis, Lobelia chinensis, and Rhizoma Cynomorii. Take 1 dose per day, decocted in water.

Add or subtract: For those with severe heat, add Coptis chinensis and Phellodendron amurense; for those with constipation, add Rhubarb; for those with chest and flank pain, add Indigo naturalis and Tribulus terrestris; for those with coma and delirium, add Angong Niuhuang Pills and Zhibao Pills; for convulsions, add Gastrodia elata, Uncaria rhynchophylla, Scorpion, and Pheretima.

3. Spleen and Kidney Yang Deficiency Type: Headache, dizziness, deafness, visual impairment, fatigue, cold body and limbs, shortness of breath, laziness, nausea and vomiting, soreness of waist and knees. Children may have developmental delay, muscle atrophy, pale tongue, moist white fur, deep and thin pulse or weak and thready pulse.

Prescription: Jinkui Shenqi Pills with modifications. Medicinal ingredients include processed aconite root, ginger pinellia, cooked rehmannia root, yam, raw astragalus, gall bladder arisaema, jujube peel, tuckahoe, pangolin, chicken gizzard lining, chuanxiong, eucommia bark, lobelia, scutellaria baicalensis, etc. Take 1 dose per day, decocted in water.

Add or subtract: For those with visual impairment, add Astragalus membranaceus, Lycium barbarum, and Psoralea corylifolia; for those with polyuria, add Rosa rugosa, Rubus idaeus, and Silkworm Cocoon; for those with fatigue and weakness, use Glehnia littoralis and Polygonatum sibiricum; for those with convulsions, add Scorpion and Centipede.

4. Liver and kidney yin deficiency, liver wind movement: headache, dizziness, tinnitus, visual impairment, nausea

Vomiting, numbness of limbs, insomnia, forgetfulness, dry throat and red cheeks, irritability, dry stool. Or tremor, convulsion, hemiplegia, tongue stiffness and aphasia, coma and delirium, stiff neck, strabismus, opisthotonos. Red tongue, little or yellow and dry coating, stringy and thin pulse.

Prescription: Zhengan Xifeng Decoction combined with Tianma Gouteng Decoction with modifications. Medicinal ingredients include raw rehmannia, raw tortoise shell, raw oyster, raw dragon bone, Chinese rhubarb, raw peony root, Scrophularia, raw ochre, Gastrodia, Gouteng, Asparagus cochinchinensis, and Semen Cassiae. Take 1 dose per day, decocted in water.

Add or subtract: For those with red eyes and restlessness, add Scutellaria baicalensis, Gardenia jasminoides, and Prunella vulgaris; for those with severe headache, add Chrysanthemum flos and Tribulus terrestris; for those with vomiting, add Rhizoma Anemarrhenae and Rhizoma Pinelliae; for those with convulsions, add Pheretima lumbricoides, Bombyx batryticatus, Scorp
