How long can a patient live after gastric cancer metastasizes to the abdominal cavity? This is a topic of great concern to many patients and their families. Gastric cancer does not have very obvious symptoms in the early stages. When patients realize that they have gastric cancer, it is already in the late stages, and metastasis is one of the manifestations of late stage gastric cancer. At present, there is no clear answer to the survival time after gastric cancer metastasis, but the following aspects are related to the life cycle of patients with gastric cancer metastasis. Treatment of abdominal metastasis of gastric cancer The treatment plan is determined according to the situation of abdominal metastasis. In the past, surgical treatment was not considered once abdominal metastasis occurred. However, in recent years, domestic and foreign studies have shown that for patients with limited peritoneal metastasis (local peritoneal metastasis is defined in the exploration), systemic chemotherapy combined with intraperitoneal hyperthermia perfusion chemotherapy can be considered for further exploration. If the metastatic nodules disappear or the metastatic scars are biopsied again and no cancer cells are found pathologically, radical treatment can be considered. Radical surgical resection has a good effect in some patients. However, diffuse peritoneal metastasis means extensive metastasis in the abdominal and pelvic cavities, which means that there is no chance for radical surgery. For these patients, the best treatment is intraperitoneal hyperthermia perfusion chemotherapy. If the physical condition allows, combined with systemic chemotherapy, if immunohistochemistry shows (++) or F.IST is positive, HER2 gene testing is recommended. Chemotherapy combined with Herceptin targeted drug therapy is recommended. Prognosis of peritoneal metastasis of gastric cancer It varies from person to person and is mainly related to the severity of metastasis, the response to chemotherapy drugs and the overall condition of the body. Some patients receive intraperitoneal hyperthermia perfusion chemotherapy combined with systemic chemotherapy and can survive for 1-3 years or even longer. Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy Systemic chemotherapy has limited effect on abdominal metastasis, mainly due to the peritoneal plasma barrier effect and low peritoneal blood drug concentration. Based on the difference in stability tolerance between normal cells and normal cells, combined with the anatomical characteristics of the abdomen and the synergistic effect of chemotherapy and hyperthermia, intraperitoneal hyperthermia perfusion chemotherapy can be destroyed by heating the high-concentration mixture. The hot perfusion fluid (42 degrees) and chemotherapy drugs reach the predetermined stability and are infused into the abdominal cavity for continuous heating and circulatory perfusion for 30-50 minutes. Free cancer cells in the peritoneal cavity have a unique therapeutic effect in the treatment of abdominal metastasis, even if micro-metastasis is removed.
