In the process of metabolizing alcohol, the liver will produce oxidants, superoxides, free radicals and other substances that the human body cannot completely eliminate. These substances are very toxic to the human body. If you drink alcohol for a long time or drink excessively, especially if you often drink strong alcohol, your liver cells will repeatedly undergo fatty degeneration, necrosis and regeneration, leading to cirrhosis and eventually liver cancer. Drinking is also the main cause of alcoholic liver diseases such as fatty liver and cirrhosis. The proportion of cirrhosis turning into liver cancer is as high as 70%. Experts point out that liver cancer is difficult to detect early because the liver itself has a strong compensatory capacity. Only when the liver damage area reaches 70% to 80%, obvious hypoglycemia symptoms will appear, manifested as dizziness, fatigue, sweating, etc. Liver cancer is highly malignant and progresses rapidly. Once symptoms appear and people seek medical treatment, it is often in the middle or late stages. Hepatitis B carriers are at high risk of liver cancer, with a 100-fold higher chance of developing liver cancer than the general population. Therefore, it is recommended that they undergo B-ultrasound and blood draw every six months to know at any time whether they have the possibility of liver cirrhosis or cancer. If liver cancer can be detected early, the risk of partial liver resection is relatively low. The surgery is more likely to be successful and the effect is more ideal. Some experts say that drinking less or no alcohol as much as possible, and eating more dairy products and fresh fruits can reduce the possibility of liver cancer. First of all, do not drink or control the amount of alcohol. If you have to, the weekly alcohol intake should not exceed 150 grams. Secondly, if you control your drinking, if you eat dairy products such as milk and yogurt every day, the incidence of liver cancer can be reduced by 78%. If you insist on eating fresh fruits every day, the chance of liver cancer can be reduced by 52%. |
