What is ovarian granulosa cell tumor, medical definition of ovarian lamina cell tumor

The ovary is one of the most important organs for women, but when some women go to the hospital for examination, they are found to have ovarian granulosa cell tumors. However, many people do not know what ovarian granulosa cell tumors are?

Ovarian granulosa cell tumor is the most common ovarian tumor with endocrine (estrogen-based) function. It can occur at any age, mostly after menopause, and rarely during adolescence. It often causes acute abdominal pain and is prone to recurrence in the late stage.

Granular cell tumor patients have 10 times the chance of endometrial cancer than normal people. Granular cell tumors are also prone to uterine fibroids, which aggravates the symptoms of irregular vaginal bleeding. 6% of patients may have breast cancer. When the tumor occurs in postmenopausal women, postmenopausal bleeding is a typical clinical symptom, and there will also be breast swelling, breast enlargement, and rightward shift of the squamous epithelium maturation index in vaginal smears.

Since tumor cells can secrete estrogen, if the tumor occurs in prepubertal children, most of them will show precocious puberty. This kind of precocious puberty is caused by tumor stimulation, also known as pseudo-precocious puberty, and clinically, it can cause breast enlargement, development of mons pubis, growth of pubic hair and axillary hair, abnormal development of internal and external genitalia, and even anovulatory menstruation.

Some patients also experience excessively advanced development of height and bone age. If the tumor occurs in women of childbearing age, the estrogen secreted by the tumor causes pathological changes in the endometrium, and with the fluctuation of estrogen levels in the body, the endometrium sheds irregularly. Therefore, clinically, about 2/3 of patients will experience abnormal vaginal bleeding symptoms such as menorrhagia and prolonged menstruation. A small number of patients will also experience persistent amenorrhea or irregular bleeding.
