How long can a patient with liver cancer and hepatic coma live? It is divided into these four periods

Hepatic coma is also one of the most important complications in the late stage of liver cirrhosis and one of the causes of death in patients with liver cirrhosis. There are four stages of development of hepatic coma:

The first stage (prodromal stage) is mild personality changes and behavioral abnormalities, such as euphoria or apathy, untidy clothing, or urinating and defecating in public.

The second stage (pre-coma) is characterized by confusion, sleep disorders, and abnormal behavior. The symptoms of the previous stage are aggravated, with decreased orientation and comprehension, confusion about time, place, and people, and slurred speech, writing disorders, and abnormal behavior are also common.

The third stage (coma) is characterized by drowsiness and mental confusion, with various neurological signs persisting or worsening. Most of the time, the patient is in a coma but can be awakened.

Stage 4 (coma) is a complete loss of consciousness and cannot be awakened. In a light coma, the patient still responds to painful stimuli and uncomfortable positions, and tendon reflexes and muscle tone are still hyperactive; because the patient cannot cooperate, flapping tremors cannot be induced. In a deep coma, various reflexes disappear, muscle tone decreases, pupils are often dilated, and paroxysmal convulsions, ankle clonus, and hyperventilation may occur.

If the disease develops to the third or fourth stage of hepatic coma, the patient is in danger and may be in danger of death at any time. If the disease is in the first two stages, with effective treatment, the patient's condition may be alleviated.

So far, there is still a lack of a unified and fixed treatment plan that can be applied to all liver cancer patients, so the treatment of liver cancer should be individualized. In the treatment of each liver cancer patient, multiple disciplines such as surgery, imaging, interventional medicine, and oncology need to complement each other and organically combine. The choice of early treatment plan will greatly affect the prognosis of liver cancer patients. Therefore, early detection, early diagnosis, early treatment and prevention are particularly important.

Liver cancer combined with severe cirrhosis and poor liver detoxification function can cause hepatic coma. Treatment with deaminogenic drugs can prolong the patient's life. Liver cancer causes severe liver damage, leading to liver failure and hepatic coma. Even with active treatment, the life expectancy is very short.
