Can liver metastatic cancer be cured? It is difficult to completely cure it

It is difficult to completely cure the disease. Chemotherapy has great side effects on the human body. If the immunity cannot be restored in time, it is easy to have complications caused by various side effects, and even the possibility of recurrence of cancer cells. Therefore, after chemotherapy, in addition to paying attention to supplementing protein and vitamins in food, patients should also eat high-fiber foods in moderation, drink plenty of water, and promote the excretion of toxic substances.

Treatments for metastatic liver cancer include surgical resection, chemotherapy, hepatic artery embolization chemotherapy, and biological therapy. There are two methods: systemic chemotherapy and hepatic artery catheterization chemotherapy. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs include fluorouracil (5Fu), mitomycin (MMC), doxorubicin (ADM), and cisplatin. Under ultrasound guidance, percutaneous puncture and intratumoral injection of anhydrous ethanol are performed. Detailed treatment of metastatic liver cancer: The treatment of the primary lesion should be combined with the treatment of secondary liver cancer. At present, the treatments for metastatic liver cancer include surgical resection, chemotherapy, hepatic artery embolization chemotherapy, and biological therapy. (I) Except for carcinoid tumors, in the absence of extrahepatic metastases, the treatment of metastatic liver cancer should remove all visible liver metastatic lesions as much as possible.
It is generally believed that liver metastasis of colorectal cancer is the best indication. (II) Chemotherapy includes systemic chemotherapy and hepatic artery catheterization chemotherapy. The former not only has poor efficacy, but also has great toxicity, which most patients at this stage cannot tolerate, so it is rarely used in clinical practice. Systemic chemotherapy is still advocated for liver metastasis of breast cancer. Doxorubicin (adriamycin) is the most effective treatment for liver metastatic cancer, with a remission rate of 25% to 30%. Chemotherapy has a high remission rate for liver metastasis of non-small cell lung cancer. Percutaneous femoral artery puncture hepatic artery catheterization chemotherapy drug infusion and (or) embolization is suitable for cases where the primary cancer cannot be cured or the primary lesion cannot be found, as well as those with extensive liver metastasis or multiple extrahepatic metastasis. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs include fluorouracil (5Fu), mitomycin (MMC), doxorubicin (ADM) and cisplatin. Hepatic artery embolization treatment often uses iodized oil, gelatin sponge, drug microspheres or microcapsules, which can significantly improve the efficacy. Contraindications are extensive liver tumor lesions, accompanied by jaundice, ascites or poor general condition. (III) Local treatment: Ultrasound-guided percutaneous intratumoral anhydrous ethanol injection is a local treatment method that has emerged in recent years. The treatment of liver metastatic cancer is suitable for isolated intrahepatic lesions, or no more than 3 lesions with a diameter of less than 3 cm. This method can cause tumor coagulation necrosis and fibrosis, prolong the patient's survival time, or create conditions for tumor surgical resection. A single lesion may completely disappear after multiple treatments.
