How to check gastric stromal tumor? There are three treatments

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are not cancer but are more aggressive than cancer. Many people are found to have Gastrointestinal stromal tumors during physical examinations or other gastrointestinal examinations. The methods of examining Gastrointestinal stromal tumors include: gastroscopy and ultrasound gastroscopy, enhanced abdominal and pelvic CT or MRI. Also, biopsy is generally not allowed. It is not easy to obtain material during biopsy and it is easy to cause tumor rupture. Unless the tumor is too large, biopsy cannot be performed.

I believe that many people have not heard of gastric stromal tumors. This is a tumor that is not cancer but is no less than cancer. The occurrence of gastric stromal tumors has little to do with the environment and diet, and it has little to do with genetic factors. Most people who have this disease are discovered by accident, such as when they have bloating and go to the hospital for a checkup and find that they have gastric stromal tumors. So how should we check for gastric stromal tumors?
The location of the tumor in each patient is different, and the hospital where they are treated is also different, which will lead to different diagnostic examinations for this disease. For each patient with gastric stromal tumor, the necessary examinations include: gastroscopy, ultrasound gastroscopy, chest or abdominal enhanced CT. Diagnostic examinations for gastric stromal tumors:
1. Gastroscopy and ultrasonic gastroscopy
Gastroscopy can effectively determine the location of the tumor. The most common manifestations of gastric stromal tumors during gastroscopy are smooth raised lesions under the gastric mucosa. A small number of patients will have smaller ulcers and corresponding blood scabs. The difference between gastric stromal tumors and gastritis is that the lesions of gastric cancer originate from the gastric mucosa, and the ulceration of the gastric mucosa can be seen very clearly, and it does not appear obviously smooth. If gastroscopy cannot confirm the diagnosis of gastric stromal tumors, the patient also needs to undergo ultrasonic gastroscopy. This method of examination has been widely used and can thoroughly observe whether there are lesions of gastric stromal tumors, and can accurately observe the size of the tumor and the degree of development.
2. Biopsy method
If it has not been confirmed whether the patient has GIST, biopsy cannot be used temporarily, because GIST grows relatively inward, below the patient's mucosa, and direct biopsy is likely to cause spread. If it has been confirmed and GIST has spread, biopsy must be performed. Biopsy cannot be used in other situations.
3. Magnetic resonance imaging
This examination method can very clearly see whether there are various lesions in the stomach in the body. It is the most common examination method for diagnosing gastric stromal tumors. Nowadays, MRI examination has been widely used. During MRI examination, patients are not allowed to bring in various metal objects.
