Thyroid cancer is highly malignant and serious, but the severity of different types of thyroid cancer varies. 1. Papillary thyroid cancer Thyroid cancer and papillary thyroid cancer are more common, accounting for about 60% to 70% of the total incidence. This type of disease grows slowly and is less malignant. It may metastasize to the cervical lymph nodes in the early stage, but the prognosis is good. 2. Anaplastic thyroid cancer The incidence of anaplastic thyroid cancer is low, accounting for only about 3.5% of the total incidence. However, it is highly malignant and grows rapidly. Even in the early stages of the disease, nearly 50% of patients can metastasize through the cervical lymph nodes and invade the recurrent laryngeal nerve, esophagus, trachea, etc.; and in the late stages of the disease, most patients can have distant metastases, which can be transferred to the lungs, liver, kidneys and other parts through blood circulation, causing local organ failure, poor prognosis, and affecting the patient's survival cycle. |
