Is hemorrhoid examination painful?

Hemorrhoids are a common symptom in life, mainly because the symptoms of getting angry can cause hemorrhoids, and everyone will encounter the symptoms of getting angry. Therefore, it is recommended that patients should undergo anal examination and treat hemorrhoids to relieve pain. Hemorrhoid examination is a little painful because a scope is placed into the intestine, which will irritate the intestinal mucosa and cause pain.

1. Anal examination: This examination is usually visual and not very painful. This examination can accurately determine whether the patient has anal fissure or hemorrhoids. This examination mainly involves gently pulling the anus apart with both hands. Except for stage 1 internal hemorrhoids, most other stage 3 internal hemorrhoids can be seen under anal inspection. For patients with prolapse, it is best to observe them immediately after defecation in the squatting position, so that the size, number and location of the hemorrhoids can be clearly seen.

2. Rectal digital examination: This examination usually depends on the doctor's skills and experience. The doctor inserts his fingers into the patient's anus to determine the severity of the patient's hemorrhoids. Generally speaking, internal hemorrhoids are difficult to feel when there is no thrombosis or fibrosis. The main purpose of digital examination is to understand whether there are other lesions in the rectum, especially to rule out rectal cancer and polyps.

3. Visual inspection: Hemorrhoids are examined using Korea's most advanced anoscope, which can magnify the lesions inside the liver hilum by dozens to thousands of times. The doctor can clearly observe whether the patient's anal mucosa has congestion, edema, ulcers, lumps, etc. After excluding other rectal diseases, observe whether there are hemorrhoids above the dentate line. If the patient suffers from hemorrhoids, the internal hemorrhoids can be seen protruding into the anoscope and appear as dark red nodules, which can be used to determine whether the patient's internal hemorrhoids are serious.

Men, women, young and old can all develop hemorrhoids, and hemorrhoids are more likely to recur. Simple surgical removal is not only very painful, but also cannot completely cure it, and it will recur. Therefore, it is very important for patients to check for internal hemorrhoids. Doctors can conduct professional examinations and take appropriate technical measures to prevent the recurrence of hemorrhoids.
