How to treat lung cancer? The most effective treatments for lung cancer

Lung cancer is a type of lung disease, and its incidence and mortality have increased year by year in recent years. Lung cancer has become the number one cancer among men, and the chance of women suffering from lung cancer is also increasing significantly. Understanding the treatment methods of lung cancer will help us a lot in curing lung cancer:

1. Surgical treatment:

In the early stages of lung cancer, radical lobectomy should be performed as much as possible to completely remove the primary cancer and clear the hilar lymph nodes while preserving healthy lung tissue to achieve the goal of survival. Patients with advanced lung cancer should strive for surgical removal of the primary tumor and metastatic lymph nodes as much as possible, while also being supplemented with radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other treatments. Generally speaking, 20% of lung cancer patients are suitable for surgical treatment.

The choice of surgical indications and types of surgery is mainly based on the site and extent of tumor invasion and the patient's general condition, especially the cardiopulmonary function reserve. The principle of surgery is to completely remove the lesion and preserve healthy lung tissue to the maximum extent.

Patients with early-stage lung cancer generally undergo radical lobectomy surgery. The treatment effect is relatively obvious, but healthy lung tissue should be preserved as much as possible to achieve the goal of survival. However, if the patient has late-stage lung cancer, it will be much more troublesome and the cure rate will gradually decrease. Therefore, the key to lung cancer is timely treatment.

2. Chemotherapy

Radiotherapy is a commonly used treatment for lung cancer. It can be divided into simple radiotherapy and comprehensive radiotherapy. Simple radiotherapy is divided into radical radiotherapy and palliative radiotherapy. The method of radiotherapy can be determined according to the pathological type of lung cancer, the extent of the lesion, whether there is metastasis, lung function and general condition. Comprehensive radiotherapy is a treatment that combines radiotherapy with surgery and chemotherapy. It can effectively improve the survival rate compared to a single treatment method.

It plays an important role in the treatment of lung cancer. According to the current view, whether it is early or late stage, whether it is surgery or radiotherapy, it must be combined with chemotherapy to improve the survival rate. For small cell lung cancer with a clear diagnosis, a course of induction chemotherapy should be carried out before surgery, and then surgical resection should be performed. Chemotherapy should be continued after surgery. Adenocarcinoma and large cell carcinoma can be treated with regular chemotherapy after surgery. For late stage or lesions that cannot be surgically removed, local infusion chemotherapy can also be performed through the bronchial artery.

Radiation pneumonia may occur during radiotherapy and within 1 month after radiotherapy. Acute radiation pneumonia is accompanied by high fever, chest pain, cough, shortness of breath, etc. Colds and upper respiratory tract infections are its causes, so you should keep warm and prevent colds, especially in winter.
