Yeast (saccharomyce) is a eukaryotic receptor cell commonly used in gene cloning experiments. Cultivating yeast is as convenient as culturing Escherichia coli. In February 2018, the precise customized synthesis of yeast long chromosomes won the Ministry of Science and Technology's Top Ten Scientific Advances in China in 2017.
