There are five ways for liver cancer to metastasize. If liver cancer metastasizes here, it will be difficult to cure

As people nowadays are under increasing work pressure, many people have neglected their own health. As a result, the number of liver cancer patients is increasing dramatically every day. So what are the causes of the disease?

What factors can cause liver cancer?

According to statistical analysis, most liver cancer patients are mainly caused by the following three factors: First, they suffer from viral hepatitis. Epidemiological statistics show that the prevalence of hepatitis B in this area is also a high incidence of liver cancer. People with hepatitis B have a 10 times higher chance of liver cancer than those without hepatitis B. Secondly, liver cancer is caused by excessive alcohol. As the saying goes, drinking alcohol hurts the liver. Although drinking alcohol is not the direct cause of liver cancer, it acts as a similar catalyst and can promote the occurrence and development of liver cancer. Finally, liver cancer is caused by improper diet. The occurrence of liver cancer is closely related to living habits. Long-term consumption of moldy food, food containing nitrosamines, and selenium deficiency are also important factors in promoting liver cancer.

How does liver cancer metastasize?

1. Intrahepatic metastasis. Liver cancer first metastasizes into the liver, and is very likely to invade the portal vein and its branches, forming tumor emboli. Multiple metastases lead to liver detachment. If portal vein cancer emboli occlude, it can cause or aggravate portal hypertension.

2. Hematogenous metastasis. Hepatic vein cancer thrombus expands to the inferior vena cava, with the highest metastasis rate to the lungs. Hematogenous metastasis can also cause metastasis to the chest, adrenal glands, kidneys, bones, etc.

3. Metastasis. This type of metastasis is rare and occasionally grows in the peritoneum and diaphragm. It can cause symptoms such as bloody ascites and pleural effusion. Women can form large cancer masses in their ovaries.

4. Lymph node metastasis. Metastasis of local lymph nodes to the liver is the most common type of liver metastasis. It can also metastasize to the pancreas, spleen, aorta and supraclavicular lymph nodes.

5. Hepatocellular carcinoma. The omentum, diaphragm capsule, right pleura, pericardium and intra-abdominal liver can all directly invade cancer cells, which is a direct invasion of liver cancer cells.
